Albert H. Wagner, 89, Bismarck, formerly of Washburn, died Dec. 19, 2008, at a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at the Washburn Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rick Torkelson officiating and the Rev. Clyde Leimberer assisting. Interment will be at Washburn Baptist Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn, and Tuesday one hour prior to time of service at the church.
Albert was born Nov. 29, 1919, near Mercer, to Henry and Magdalena (Walcker) Wagner. Albert's love of his life was his wife, Evelyn, next was his family, farming and his church. He worked very hard to care for his family. Along with farming, he also worked on the construction phase of the Garrison Dam and on high-line electrical towers. Albert was also employed with the Washburn Chevy Garage, the Case Company and drove school bus for the Washburn Public School District.
He is survived by one son, Duane (Jeannette) Wagner, Bismarck; two daughters, Sandra (Patrick) Crow, Danville, Ohio, and Deborah (Nathan) Gartner, Mandan; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha (Max) Hancock, Tucson, Ariz., and Thelma (Kelley) Woffard, Las Cruces, N.M.; and one brother, Milton (Alice) Wagner, Spanaway, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Evelyn (Jesser) Wagner; his parents, Henry and Magdalena Wagner; nine brothers; and four sisters.
