The 1910 US Census for Naper Village, Boyd County, NE indicates he was married in 1888 and immigrated in 1891. Being the oldest son, he came ahead of his family and wife to establish some sort of residence for the family. This census indiates he was living in his parents home but his wife, Margueritte is not so indicated. Jacob and his father had farms in northern McCulley twp. near the South Dakota border directly south of Fairfax. At some point, both father and son, Jacob were living on an acerage a couple miles north of their farms along the railroad going into the south of Fairfax, SD. In his later years, Jacob and his wife lived in a house in town Fairfax at the same intersection where the German Congregational Church stood. They never had children.
