Mrs. Lydia Sayler Hochstatter died at her home at Boulder, CO on September 27, 1968, at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 2 days. She was the widow of the late Rev. John A. Hochstatter, who preceded her in death on January 12, 1965. The couple had retired from the active ministry with the Congregational Church in 1942, when they moved to Boulder.
Mrs. Hochstatter was the daughter of Ludwig and Anna Miller Sayler, and was born August 25, 1892 at Lesterville, S. Dakota. She received her schooling at Lesterville, where she met and married John A. Hochstatter in 1913, who was a graduate student of Yankton College. The following three years they both continued their education at the University of Chicago, where the deceased graduated from the Presbyterian Training School. She later taught school at Plevna, Montana and in Canada, and was a Sunday school leader and organist in churches where her husband was a minister.
The couple held parishes at Worden and Sidney, Montana; Hilda, Alberta, Canada; Newdorf, Saskatchewan, Canada; Eureka, S.Dakota; Wapato and Quincy, WA and at Loveland, CO, before retiring.

Lydia married Rev John H HOCHSTATTER on the 25th of August 1913 in Lesterville, Yankton County, South Dakota. The couple was blessed with 2 children; Johathan and Sally Ruth.
