John Gall, son of Peter and Martha (Just) Gall was born February 6, 1929 at Burnstad, ND. He attended rural school in the Burnstad area and attended high school in Wishek. After his schooling he worked for the Drug Store in Wishek.
John was united in marriage to Patricia Stevens July 7, 1957. They made their home in the Wishek area where he farmed and ranched for his father-in-law Cliff Herr. John was a member of the National Guard and later inducted into the military during the Korean Conflict. He also worked for the City of Wishek, retiring in 2004. John was a life member of the American Legion and served on various positions and a long time treasurer. He loved sports and was an avid Legion Baseball supporter and spearheaded the steak fry fundraiser for the team. He also loved to hunt and fish. John was a great sausage, head cheese and liver sausage maker. He was known for his Sunday meal consisting of fried chicken, and chicken noodle soup made with homemade noodles.
John died Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Wishek Living Center, Wishek, ND. He was 85 years old.
John is survived by two sons, Raydon R.(Cindy) Gall and John C. (Stephanie) Gall; two daughters, Dianne Stevens and Melissa Carver; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; special friend, Gladys Kemmet; three brothers, Marvin (Phyllis) Gall, Norman (Carol) Gall and Elmer (Donna) Gall; three sisters, Vi Erickson, Ella Schelske and Irene (Carl) Zabrowski. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and one sister.
