Julius Pritzkau, 85, died Thursday, August 4, 2011 at his home in Riverton, Utah.
Julius was born August 7, 1925 in Ashley, ND, the son of John and Lydia (Reich) Pritzkau. He grew up on the family farm in Napoleon, ND, and received his education at the #2 Country School.
After serving his country during World War II in the Fiji Islands, he requested a return to Salt Lake City when he was discharged, where he had dreamt of seeing the beautiful Wasatch Mountains that he loved. Julius married Gwen B. Black on June 12, 1949 in Hunter, Utah.
He worked at the Lark mine from 1949 until it closed in 1971, retiring years later from Cullligans. He loved all animals and had a great appreciation for a good horse.
For many years, if anyone needed him on a Saturday, they knew that he could be found at the Livestock Auction in Spanish Fork, Utah. Julius and Gwen were married for fifty-seven years and had eight children.
He is preceded in death by his wife and his youngest daughter in 2006. Grateful for sharing his life are his seven children, nineteen grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren. Never say goodbyejust see you later!
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 South 2200 West, where friends may call an hour prior.
