Esther Marie Zimbelman, 84, of Lodi, died Nov. 15 in Lodi. She was born Jan. 5, 1920, in Carson, N.D.
Mrs. Zimbelman married Edwin Zimbelman in 1941. As a pastor's wife, she attended to many church needs with her husband in North Dakota, Washington, Oregon, and then in Napa, Vallejo, Arcata and Hallwood. She moved to Lodi with her husband after his retirement. She worked as a bible study teacher, and enjoyed needlepoint, reading and spending time with her family. She was an avid Kings fan.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Faye Clayton, of Palo Alto; son, Dr. James Ray Zimbelman, of Maryland; sisters, Frieda Scheerer, of Minnesota, and Viola Ann Richardson, of Washington; brothers, Calvin Huber, of Washington, and Robert Huber, of Minnesota; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Edwin Zimbelman, in 1998; seven brothers; and one sister.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Lodi Memorial Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at Lodi Community Church with Dr. Walter M. Hubbard and Pastor W. Scott Hubbard of Crossroads Community Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Lodi Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kettleman Lane Community Church, 2223 W. Kettleman Lane, Lodi, CA 95242.
