Joseph "Joe" Zimbleman, 81, of Longmont, Colorado, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2008, at his home following a period of declining health.Joe was born July 21, 1927, in Winner, South Dakota, to Jake and Sophie (Zimmerle) Zimbleman. He moved to Longmont in 1955 where his brother, Ken was living.On April 21, 1962, Joe married Lois Leonard in Longmont. They had three sons together. Before their divorce, the couple made their home in Longmont where Joe worked as a lineman for Longmont Power and Communications. He retired in 1992 after 35 years of service. In retirement Joe enjoyed going around town and visiting with the many friends he made through the years.He loved the outdoors, and liked to travel, camp and fish. He enjoyed hiking and had climbed Mount Meeker and Longs Peak several times through the years. Joe was a fan of the Denver Broncos, country music and collecting antiques, especially antique radios. His strong work ethic, and his love of family will be greatly missed.Mr. Zimbleman is survived by his sons, Mike Zimbleman and his wife, Sokea of Longmont, Doug Zimbleman and his wife, Susan of Broomfield, and Roger Zimbleman and his wife, Leesa of Eden, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Jake, Hok, Long, Hor, Seth and Kiana; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Kenneth and Albert Zimbleman, and a sister, Erna Vavra.Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Howe Mortuary, Longmont. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 23 at Howe Mortuary with Ed McQueen of Rocky Mountain Christian Church officiating.
