      Ken Armand Sinkular was born on August 11, 1948 in Gregory, SD to Woodrow and Elsie (Schmidt) Sinkular. He was the oldest of three children. He graduated from Gregory High School in 1966. In December of 1966, he moved to Sioux City, Iowa. There he worked in many of the packing houses.
      In April of 1968, Ken was drafted into the US Army. He served in Vietnam. After the war, Ken went back to the packing houses. In May of 1979, Ken moved back to South Dakota. He worked with his Dad and brothers. In 1981, Ken went to work in Gregory where he drove bulk truck for Independent Oil, and also milk truck for AMPI.
      In 1995, Ken met Gail Frank. On May 4, 2012 he was united in marriage with his long-time companion, Gail Frank. They continued to make their home in Gregory.
      Ken enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and darts and playing cards. Many days were spent at a fishing pond or at the river. He loved taking kids fishing and watching them catch their first fish. His love for his faith, family and friends were a priority. Ken became known as the candy man. He always had a pocket full of candy to share with young and old.
      He was a member of the Burke VFW, the Dallas American Legion and was a proud veteran who took great honor in defending his country. He was a member of the Gregory United Methodist Church.
      Ken passed away at the Gregory Hospital on November 3, 2012 at the age of 64 years.
      He is survived by his wife Gail of Gregory, his mother Elsie Sinkular of Gregory and his brothers Kent of Dallas and Barry and wife Jeannette of Dallas; his father-in-law Elmer Frank of Gregory, his in laws: Ruth and Doug Hessman of Wakonda, SD - Douglas Frank of Gregory - Fred Frank of Mission Hill, SD - Kay and Chuck Scharf of Chamberlain, SD – Roger and Mary Frank of Gregory – David Frank of Gregory –Lisa and Rob Schmitz of Scotland, SD and Byron Frank of Rapid City, SD. His best friend Jerry Vander Esch of Worthing, SD. His important buddies: Dustin Frank of Gregory – April Herrlein of Chadron, NE – Tyrel Herrlein of Brookings, SD – Rose and Nate Massa and family of Chadron, NE and Carm Frank of Gregory. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and family relatives.
      Ken was preceded in death by his father Woodrow, his sister-in-law Deloris Sinkular, and his mother-in-law Patsy Frank.
