Christine Klein Mueller, 96, Wishek, N.D., died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at the Wishek Retirement Home, Wishek.
Christine Klein was born March 31, 1913, in Wishek, the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Ackerman) Klein. She attended the local rural elementary school. In her youth, she helped her mother, who was in poor health. She joined several brothers in working at the Glen Martin Air Craft facility, Baltimore, Md., in 1942. After World War II, she worked for social services in Washington, D.C., until her retirement. She married Frank Mueller in 1952. They returned to his family farm near Pingree, N.D., after their retirement in the late 1980s. He died in 1988. She moved to Wishek and later entered Wishek Retirement Home. She enjoyed playing the piano.
She is survived by a brother, RR (Jean), Wishek; and two sisters-in-law, Verna Klein, Wishek, and Bertha Klein, Derby, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, Albert (Ida), Eddie (Hulda), Elmer and Harold; and two sisters, Lydia (Emil) Junkert, and Emma (Charles) Miller.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, United Church of Christ, Wishek, with the Rev. Tammy Toepke-Floyd officiating.
Visitation: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Haut Funeral Homes, Wishek, and one hour before the service at the church.
