Clark was born October 26, 1937, to Louis Hall and Alta Maughan Brenchley in Wellsville, Utah. He earned the rank of Eagle in the Boy Scouts of America.
Clark served in the United States Army for a short time before completing an LDS mission in London, England. On December 16, 1961, he married VerLee Huntsman in the Saint George Utah LDS Temple. The couple made their home in Provo, Utah. Following graduation from Brigham Young University in 1967, Clark taught school in Salt Lake County School District and at the Utah Developmental Center in American Fork. He also worked with the Utah State Division of Family Services before retiring in 1997. Following the death of his wife in 1996, Clark married Euniece O'Neal in June 1997 in the Mount Timpanogos Utah LDS Temple in American Fork, Utah. The couple made their home for many years in Salem, Utah, where Clark enjoyed gardening, woodcraft, and volunteered at the LDS Bishops storehouse and packing plant. J. Clark Maughan Brenchley, beloved father and grandfather, left his earthly home on Thursday, May 14, 2015, to join his loved ones in heaven.
