Denny R. Zillmer, a resident of Little Falls, died July 21, 2007, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls. Burial will be in the Gackle, N.D. cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Little Falls American Legion Post #46.
Denny was born Feb. 22, 1935, in Gackle, N.D. to the late Alfred and Mabel Zillmer. Denny was raised on the family farm near Gackle, N.D. and attended country school. He entered the US Army in 1952 and his tours of duty took him to Germany, Vietnam, Korea and Turkey. He retired from the US Army in 1972 as a sergeant major. Denny moved to Vining, and farmed with his sons. He lived in Orange County, Calif., and Sprague River, Ore., for a few years and then relocated to Little Falls. Denny enjoyed model railroading. He was a member of the Little Falls American Legion Post #46.
Denny R. Zillmer is survived by a daughter Pamela Fielding of Anaheim Hills, Calif.; his sons Ronnie Zillmer of Little Falls, Steven Zillmer and wife Kirsten of Northfield and Tommy Zillmer and wife Hui Chong of Columbia, Md.; brothers Glen Zillmer and wife Irene of Ulen, Alfred 'Bud' Zillmer and wife Joyce of Cleveland, N.D. and Dale Zillmer and wife Mary of Henning; sister Joan Otto of Milltown, Wis.; former wives Gertrude Zillmer of Long Beach, Calif., Verie Zillmer of Staples and Leah Riddell of Arlington, Texas and nine grandchildren.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Wilbert, Raymond and Wayne Zillmer and former wife, OK Cha Birge.
