Ray Clingman
Ray C. Clingman, 85, a retired manager, of 3909 S. Cathy Ave., died Monday, Jan 9, 1995, at Covington Heights Health Care Center.
Mr. Clingman was born Feb. 2, 1909, in Pleasant Hope, Mo. He grew up and attended school in Pleasant Hope. He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946. He then worked for Farmland Industries in Kansas City, Mo., and transferred to Sioux Falls in 1948.
He married Elda Runyan on July 11, 1050, in Sioux Falls. They returned to Kansas City in 1957, where he continued to work for Farmland Industries. They returned to Sioux falls in 1964. He retired as a manager for Farmland Industries in 1974 after 40 years of service.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church; Masonic Lodge 130; American Legion; and the Elks Lodge.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. James (Margaret Ann) Pierce of Green Valley, Ariz.; one grandson; and one brother, Keim of Springfield, Mo.
Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls, with private inurnment services at 1:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to First United Methodist Church Foundation or Sioux Valley hospital Hospice Program.
