WISHEK — Lydia Just, 87, Wishek, died Feb. 9, 2011, at Wishek Home for the Aged. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, Feb. 11, at St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Wishek, with the Rev. Adam Roberts officiating. Interment will be at Wishek City Cemetery in the spring.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Haut Funeral Home, Wishek.
Lydia Stroh was born March 20, 1923, two miles west of Wishek, the daughter of John D. Stroh and Eva (Dockter) Stroh. At an early age, she moved into Wishek with her parents. She received her elementary education at Wishek Public School and graduated in 1942. Following graduation, she attended New York Hairdressing Academy in Fargo. She then started work with her sister, Atlanta Larson, in the Modern Beauty Shop in Wishek. In 1946, she bought the business and continued to operate it.
She and Alvin M. Just were married July 20, 1947, at Wishek. They made their home in Wishek, where she continued to run the Beauty Shop and he owned and operated an Auto Body Shop. In 1995, she entered the Wishek Home for the Aged. Alvin passed away May 19, 1995.
She was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Wishek. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters, Paula (David) Miller, Mandan, and Pamela Just, Bismarck; one granddaughter, Tracy Miller, Mandan; one brother and one sister, Edwin (Stella) Stroh, Bismarck, and Mart Boschee, Bonnie Lake, Wash.; and two sisters-in-law, Leah Just, Wishek, and Lydia Stroh, Choteau, Mont.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers, Gust, Enoch, Walter, Art and Gideon; and one sister, Atlanta.
