GACKLE - Clayton Remboldt, 69, Gackle, died Sept. 28, 2007, at his home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Gackle, with the Rev. Russ Pollock officiating. Interment will be in Gackle City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Haut Funeral Home, Gackle, where prayer services will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Clayton Remboldt was born Aug. 15, 1938, in Griffin township in Stutsman County, northwest of Gackle, the son of Edward Remboldt and Ida (Hehn) Remboldt. He attended Gackle Public School where he received his education. He and Twila Dockter were married July 16, 1960, at Streeter. They made their home in Streeter until 1962. Then they moved to Lincoln, Neb. In 1964 they returned to Streeter where they owned and operated Streeter Bar. In 1966 they moved to Gackle where he was employed at Heier Implement and Gackle Meat Locker.
In 1970 he started employment with Cooperative Elevator Company of Gackle, and in 1977, he became manager and remained there until his retirement in 2001. The elevator is now known as Gackle Grain Coop after the consolidation of the two elevators in 1990. Following the death of his wife, April 13, 2006, he had continued to reside in Gackle. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle.
Surviving are three sons, Scott Remboldt, Fairbanks, Alaska, Cordell (Zina) Remboldt, Bismarck, and Chad Remboldt, Lenexa, Kan.; two grandchildren, Cody and Allison, Bismarck; his mother-in-law, Florence Dockter-Heier, Gackle; one brother, Clyde C. (Alice) Remboldt, Jamestown; and two sisters, Arlene (Lloyd) Veil, Streeter, and Twilla (Dwight) Wiest, Gackle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one brother, Kevin.
