He was the son of George W. Horn and Florence Jordan.
During WWII Ed enlisted in the U.S. Navy on August 23, 1942 at Des Moines, Iowa. In 1942 he served on the U.S.S Albemarle with the rank of Seaman 2nd Class. In 1944 he was serving on the U.S.S. Tarazed with the rank of Aviation Electrician's Mate 3rd Class. He was in the Navy for four years.
Ed married Barbara Carol Hall October 30, 1948.
Cremated and ashes put in an urn with his wife Barbara's ashes.
