Marie married Otto Gunsch September 5, 1935 in Streeter. They moved to Dickinson in 1955 and opened Service Drug. Otto died in 1964. She was a member of First Congregational-United Church of Christ, Eastern Star and American Legion Auxillary. Marie enjoyed baking and cooking for her family, knitting, fishing, playing cards and bingo. Marie Gunsch is survived by: her sons, Merle Gunsch, Lewistown, Mont. and Richard (Marilyn) Gunsch, Bismarck, ND; daughter, Kathy Decker, Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; brothers and sisters, Martha George, Bismarck, Ed (Bev) Wentz, Sun City, Ariz., Ione Schwartzwalter, Fargo, Ray (Lois) Wentz, Jamestown, LeRoy (Velma) Wentz, Lemmon, SD and LoEtta Feigert, Bismarck. Mr. Schwartzwalter was born Dec. 20, 1919, on the family farm six miles southwest of Streeter, N.D., the son of John J. Jr. and Matilda (Pfiefle) Schwartzwalter. He attended the rural school, receiving his elementary education. He attended the Steele (N.D.) High School and later the Cowiche High School, Washington. He later was a student at Music High School, Sacramento, Calif. He entered the U.S. Army Jan. 24, 1942, and served in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater. He was discharged Oct. 29, 1945, with the rank of technical sergeant. He returned to Streeter. He married Ione Wentz July 28, 1946, at Steele. They lived and farmed five miles west of Streeter. In 1963, they moved to Steele, where he operated the Crown Lanes Bowling Alley. In 1967, they moved to Fargo, where he owned and operated the Norge Village Laundromat. In 1970, he operated Fargo's Finest Coin Operated Laundry. In 1982, he sold the laundry business. In 1983, they moved to Tower City, N.D., where he bought the Tower Motel. In 1988, he sold the motel and returned to Fargo for retirement. In April, 1993, he entered Rosewood Nursing Home, Fargo. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Fargo, Melvin Bender American Legion Post #265, Streeter, V.F.W. Post #7564, West Fargo and 62nd Armored Field Artillery. He is survived by his wife; a son, Gregory (Linda), Moorhead, Minn.; four daughters, Myra (Lynn) McCarty, Maxbass, N.D., Merna (Jim) Bredwick, Arnegard, N.D., Melanie (Jon) Loy, West Fargo, N.D., and Mileta (David) Hildahl, Clarkfield, Minn.; two sisters, Lena Schuler, Streeter, and Ella Smith, Mesa, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Interment was at Friedens Cemetery in rural Streeter, North Dakota. Ione was born December 18, 1921, in Streeter, North Dakota to George and Margaretha (Graf) Wentz. She attended school in Streeter and graduated in 1940. In the fall of 1940, she started work at the Bank of Steele in Steele, North Dakota. She married Emil Schwartzwalter July 28, 1946 at Steele. They lived and farmed five miles west of Streeter. In 1963, they moved to Steele where Ione again worked at the bank. In 1967, they moved to Fargo where she helped her husband operate the Norge Laundry and Dry Cleaning Village. In 1975, she worked at the South Fargo Ben Franklin Store as an assistant manager until the store closed in 1997. In August 2006, she moved to Arnegard, North Dakota to live with her daughter Merna, (Jim) Bredwick. She moved to the Clarkfield Care Center in Clarkfield in April of 2010 due to ill health. Ione was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Fargo. She was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #265 in Streeter and served as its first president. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Streeter Happy Homemakers Club. Martha M. Wentz was born March 8, 1906, in Streeter, to George and Margaretha (Graf) Wentz. She attended school in Streeter. On Oct. 30, 1930, she and Harry George were married in the E.U.B. Church at Streeter. Martha and Harry lived in Steele from 1930 until 1968, where they worked together at the Bank of Steele until they retired and sold the bank. Following retirement, they moved to Bismarck. Martha was very active in her church teaching Sunday school and directing choir. She served in many civic capacities including treasurer of the city of Steele for 14 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a charter member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Martha is survived by her brothers and sisters, Ed (Bev) Wentz, Sun City, Ariz., Ione Schwartzwalter, Arnegard, Ray (Lois) Wentz, Jamestown, LeRoy (Velma) Wentz, Lemmon, S.D., and LoEtta Feigert, Bismarck; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five brothers and three sisters. The family of Martha would like to thank everyone who offered condolences and prayers. We especially want to thank the wonderful staff at St. Vincent's Care Center for the loving care they bestowed upon Martha. Louie Feigert was born Sept. 23, 1924, at Streeter, the son of Jacob and Katherine (Hottman) Feigert. He was raised and educated in Streeter, graduating in 1943. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1943, served in the South Pacific Theatre, and held the rank of sergeant prior to his honorable discharge in 1946. Following military service, he worked at a lumber mill, on a construction crew and the Northern Pacific Railroad. He married Etta Wentz on Nov. 12, 1948, in Jamestown. They moved to Washington, where Louie worked at Boeing Aircraft. They returned to Jamestown, where Louie attended Jamestown College. He graduated with a business administration degree in 1954. Following graduation, he accepted a teaching position at Hebron. From 1955 to 1968, he was the assistant cashier at the Bank of Steele. He held positions as administrator at the Heartview Foundation and Golden Valley County Hospital. He traveled as a salesman for several companies from 1974 to 1986. Following retirement, he worked as the parking lot attendant at St. Alexius Medical Center. Louie is survived by his wife, Etta; two daughters and one son-in-law, Deborah and Steven Bensen, Mayville, and Marsha Decker, Chandler, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Lauri, Andrea and Jeremy Bensen; one great-granddaughter, Julia; three brothers, Robert, Jamestown, and Gottlieb and Clarence, both of Fargo; three sisters, Elizabeth Hilsendeger, Bismarck, Lydia Gensburg, Napoleon, and Mathilda Washburn, Fairchild, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. in the United Church of Christ in Wishek with Rev. Herbert Zimmerman officiating. Martha Ackerman was born Dec. 27, 1901, in Logan County to Fred and Christina (Werner) Sayler. She was born on the Sayler homestead northwest of Wishek where she also attended rural elementary school. She lived with her family, helping on the farm until her marriage to Edward Ackerman on Dec. 18, 1923, in Napoleon. After their marriage they resided on the Ackerman homestead for two years. They then built a new farmstead ½-mile from the Ackerman homestead. In 1957, they retired and moved into the city of Wishek. Mr. Ackerman died on Nov. 1, 1964. Martha was a member of the United Church of Christ and the Martha Aid in Wishek. Her hobbies included gardening and crocheting. Survivors include four sons, Elmer Ackerman of Garland, Texas, Harold Ackerman and Donald Ackerman, both of Dickinson, and Edward Ackerman of Wishek; a daughter Ida Quatier of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ida Klein of Sacramento, Calif., and Bertha Reiger of Wishek. She was preceded in death by her son Oscar (died in infancy), a grandson, a great-grandson, seven brothers and six sisters. Organist at the service was Georgine Sayler. Special music was provided by Rev. and Mrs. George Rueb. Pallbearers were Michael Ackerman, Alan Ackerman, Ronald Ackerman, Todd Quatier, Ron Gall and Paul Ackerman. Februar 1832 in Südrussland geboren, nachdem er erwachsen geworden war, war er mit Frau Larenz Schreador verheiratet, und als Ergebnis dieser Verbindung wurden sechs Kinder geboren, von denen sechs noch leben, um seinen Verlust zu betrauern. Nach einem langen arbeitsreichen und nützlichen Leben starb er, wie er geehrt, vertraut und geliebt gelebt hatte. Er errichtete sein eigenes Denkmal, während er in den Herzen aller lebte, die ihn kannten. Sein Leben war vollendet in getaner Arbeit, und gut gemacht stellt Vollendung dar. Sein christliches Leben liest sich wie ein offenes Kapitel und trotz all der Wechselfälle und Leiden, denen er begegnete, wankte sein Glaube an seinen Meister nie. Mai 2006, in sein himmlisches Zuhause im Wishek Home for the Aged in Wishek, ND, gerufen. Edward wurde am 26. August 1911 in Logan County, in der Nähe von Gackle, North Dakota, als Sohn von John Mueller und Theresia (Baltzer) Mueller geboren. Er erhielt seine Grundschulausbildung in der örtlichen Landschule und wuchs in der Nähe zum Mann heran. Er und Lillian Remboldt heirateten am 19. März 1939 in der Grace Baptist Church in Gackle. In den ersten Jahren ihrer Ehe besaß und betrieb Edward eine Spedition. 1942 stiegen sie mit ihrer Familie ganztägig in das Lebensmittelgeschäft ein und später waren sie alleinige Eigentümer von Mueller Fairway Grocery. 1974 gingen sie in den Ruhestand und lebten weiterhin in Gackle. Im Februar 2006 betrat er das Seniorenheim Wishek. Er war ein treues Mitglied der Grace Baptist Church und arbeitete als Treuhänder viele Stunden in der Kirche. Als Stadtrat und Bürgermeister von Gackle war er auch in geschäftlichen Angelegenheiten sehr aktiv. Edward war ein liebevoller Ehemann, Vater und Großvater. Besonders liebte er seine Enkel und Urenkel und war am glücklichsten, wenn sie in ihrer Nähe waren. Nach seiner Pensionierung verbrachte er viele Stunden damit, in seiner Werkstatt an Holzprojekten zu arbeiten und stellte viele Möbelstücke für seine Familie und Freunde her. Sie bewirtschafteten bis 1949 im ländlichen Stutsman County. Sie zogen nach Medina, wo Alice gerne Hausfrau war. Reinhold verstarb 1953. Alice arbeitete eineinhalb Jahre im Drogeriemarkt Medina und 21 Jahre im Kaufhaus Borth & Speidel in Medina. Sie ging im Oktober 1976 in den Ruhestand. Alice lebte bis 2000 in Medina, als sie dann zu Rock of Ages in Jamestown kam. Später zog sie in das Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home. Alice war viele Jahre lang aktives Mitglied der English Lutheran Church in Medina, der ALCW und des Kirchenchors. Sie war auch Mitglied des Sunshine Homemakers Club, der American Legion Auxiliary und zweier Geburtstagsclubs. Sie genoss es, für Menschen im ganzen Land zu quilten. Alice war immer bereit, anderen einen Gefallen zu tun, wann immer sie konnte, und versuchte, andere glücklich zu machen.
