Hackleman's in America, 1749-1988:
Sarah Tyner was John Harris's mistress, not his wife, and lived in a house on one of his plantations. She bore him 3 children -- 2 boys and a girl. All of the children kept the Tyner name rather than take the Harris name.
John provided well for all three children in his will. He also provided for Sarah, leaving her a house and attached estate for her life time. His wife, Mildred, was also left a house and estate for her life time. At Mildred's death, everything went to the Tyner children. For that reason, it may be surmised that John and Mildred had no living children.
Sarah was pretty much cut out of her father's, Nicholas Tyner, will. She was only given a cow and a calf. This shows how angry he was at her actions.
See the Hackleman genealogy book by Elijah Hackleman for a transcript of both Nicholas' and John's wills and lots of other information on the Tyners.

Jesse Earl Brandner, 79, Bismarck, passed away February 14, 2016, in his home.
Jesse Brandner, son of Martha and Julius Brandner was born November 29, 1936, on the family farm north of Zeeland. Jesse lived on the farm until the age of 9 when his family moved to Wishek where his father, Julius, served as police chief. Jesse graduated from Wishek High School in 1954. Jesse served in the National Guard for three years and then enlisted in the Army where he served for another three years.
Jesse was united in marriage to Marilyn Grage on October 1, 1966, at Hillsboro. He was employed as a cartographer by the Field District of the U.S. Geological Survey, Department of the Interior for 31 years. He and Marilyn were given the opportunity to make their home in 64 different towns across the United States during Jesse’s 31 years of map making. Jesse retired in 1993 when the couple made their home in Hillsboro until 2000, then moving to Bismarck where he spent the remainder of his life.
Jesse was a very active member of his church. In recent years, he served as Chaplin for the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), here in Bismarck. In his spare time, Jesse loved to be outside tending his garden, and visiting with friends and neighbors. Jesse and Marilyn enjoyed a good game of pinochle. They were always together as partners, and life-long soul mates. He will be dearly missed by the many people he touched with his kind, compassionate, and forever loving heart.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Marilyn Brandner, Bismarck; his sister, Elizabeth Reinpold, Mandan; nephew, Daryl Brandner, Bismarck; niece, Julie Reinpold, Mandan; three great-nieces, Mikaela, Jordann, and Hannah; and one great-nephew, Jaden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Julius; his sister, Arbadella; and his nephew, Kim.

Johannes's birth place is sort of a mystery which cannot be proven. Some say he was born in the farm community of Sulzthal, (near present day Windstein), Bas-Rhine, Alsace, France, but it is now thought he was born in Switzerland and came with his parents to the farm community of Sulzthal, Alsace. Regardless, he lived in this community and was a shoemaker, and his father, Johann Michael Yoho, a meat cutter in the same community. His wife, Susanna Catherine Lau was born most likely in that community, as it seems the Lau's owned the farm. They were married March 1, 1735 in Lembach, Alsace. They appear to have been Lutheran. They, along with one child, Eva Cathrina, journeyed across the ocean, and Eva tragically died on the way. A sister who was born in 1740 was named in her memory.
Johannes and Susanna first settled in Conewago, Pennsylvania upon arriving in the new world. Later they would move to a 246 acre tract of land on Cedar Creek, in what was then Frederick County, about 18 miles distant of Winchester, Virginia. next they would once again move to Ohio County, Virginia, in a part with would later become Marshall County, West Virginia, on a large tract of land lying about a mile up from the mouth of Fish Creek. Here they died and were buried, the first occupants of the Peter Yoho Cemetery.
