Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. MST Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, New Leipzig, with the Reverend John Amundson officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural New Leipzig. Pallbearers will be Miranda, Cassandra, Nathaniel, and Alroy Achtenberg, and Rodney and Jim Staiger. Emelia Staiger Achtenberg was born on November 15, 1917, in Glen Ullin to Gottlieb and Christina (Delzer) Staiger. She attended rural schools there and married Ray Achtenberg on March 21, 1948. She was a true farm wife, working side by side with Ray in the fields and with the cattle. She especially enjoyed her poultry and garden. In the winter she did crocheting and embroidering. In later years she especially liked to visit and reminisce about the happy times spent with both her and Ray's family. Family was very inportant to Emelia and she held them all dear. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, New Leipzig, and the Heart River Homemaker Club. Emelia is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Fred Houzvicka, Ismay, Montana; one son and daughter-in-law, Don and Jaunite Achtenberg, New Leipzig; four granddaughters, Miranda, Cassandra, Jenna and Rachelle; two grandsons, Nathaniel and Matthew; one brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Martha Staiger, Hebron; and one foster sister, Ella (Don) Ford, St. Paul, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ray. | Staiger, Emelia (I208691)

| 132075 | www.findagrave.com: www.findagrave.com/memorial/123816460/balser-wenrich Source: Wenrich Family of Berks County, Pennsylvania Revisited, The Early Generations, by Oby Bonawit, 1975: Note: There are many different spellings for both the first and last name. I have kept the different spellings as they occurred in the different documents. For the memorial I chose Wenrich to make it easier to find in a search. An Embarkation List of Germans from the Rhineland going to London in 1709 included Balzar Weinrich with his wife, a daughter and three sons (ages 7, 5 and 3). Balzar was listed as a husbandman and vinedresser. A Colonial Census of Palatines at New York in 1710 shows the family comprised of Baltzar (40), Elizabeth (30), Maria Eliz. (17), Hans George (9) and Johan Maltheis (6). About 1717, a "Simmendinger Register" listed Balthasar Wenrig at Wormsdorff, a camp on the Hudson above New York. Records of the Kingston, New York Dutch Church show Baltus and Magdalena Wenrig as baptismal sponsors for a grandson, Baltus Beshore, on July 31, 1720. In 1722 the Palatines were invited to Pennsylvania where they would be given land for homes. It appears that Balser Wennerick may have first gone to Lancaster Co. as he was taxed there in 1724 and 1726. However, in 1726, he was also a baptismal sponsor for Mathias' son, Balthaser, along with his wife, Magdalene, at the Little Tulpehocken Church west of Bernville. A third wife, Catharine Weidman, appears when she and Balthasar Wendrich marry on February 6, 1739 at the New Holland Lutheran Church in Lancaster County. It is not known when Balzar died, but the first Wenrich ancestors were buried in the Northkill Churchyard north of Bernville. | Wenrich, Balthasar (I211145)
