Later he worked as a self employed carpenter. He was a member of the Herreid Baptist Church and American Legion, as well as a 33 year member of AA. He enjoyed reading. Surviviors include his wife, one son and daughter-in-law; two daughters and sons-in-law; four grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters.
