According to KGB records in Nikolaev translated by museum staff and send in July 2002, Friedrich had a family of wife -Rosalia (father George). son Friedrich of 17, Edward of 13, and Herman of 7 when he was arrested in 1937.
He had a house, a cow and a sheep which were confiscated. During the investigation letters and photos from the USA were found. He was sentenced to 10 years labor camp as a suspected enemy of state. On release from labor camp, he wrote to KGB and asked about his brother Heinrich also arrested in 1937. He was told that Heinrich had been sent to labor camp and died of a heart attack.
