Part of the ranch was rented by her parents Mabel Frances (Walters) and Charles August Kappelman, Sr. One of five children, Frances attended rural schools in Nebraska and South Dakota, graduating from Keya Paha High School in Springview, Nebraska in 1948. After graduation Frances taught rural school in Nebraska. Raymond Jacob Hoffman and Frances became acquainted at a dance in Wewela, SD on Friday, August 13, 1949. By coincidence, their wedding day was Saturday, August 26, 1950, one year and 13 days after they met. They always considered 13 to be their lucky number. They were married at Union Congregational Church in Gregory where they were devoted and faithful members for their entire lives. Ray and Frances lived in Dallas for a few months, then purchased the family farm south of Dallas from Ray's mother where they made their home for their entire lifetime. This was the same house where Ray had been born. They raised their family of three sons on the farm. Timothy Raymond born November 24, 1953; Rodney Dean born April 12, 1955; Michael Scott born May 16, 1957. When the children were raised Ray and Frances did some traveling which included a trip to Pearl Harbor. Frances was active in the Dallas American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary in Winner. She enjoyed visiting her relatives, collecting match books, stamps and coins. Ray and Frances spend many Saturday nights dancing at Carlock. Frances worked as a receptionist at the Gregory Community Hospital and also as a bookkeeper at the Dallas Coop Elevator. Later she worked sewing at the cap factory in Gregory. Frances died on August 16, 2010, at the age of 80 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray, her parents, two sons: Timothy and Rodney, one infant daughter, two brothers George and Charles Kappelman; one sister Bertha Weidner and one nephew Paul Kappelman. Her brother Jack Kappelman passed away only two days after Frances. She is survived by her son Michael and his wife Melanie of Gregory, SD; 5 grandchildren: Nicole Hoffman, Cameron Hoffman, Ben Hoffman, Brooke Hoffman, and Michael Hoffman Jr. and 3 step-grandchildren: Derek Nelson, Danielle Goldade, and Desisree Nelson and 6 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Feidner was author of "The County Line" column which has delighted readers of The News-Sentinel for the past five years. She was born August 7, 1914, to Mr. and Mrs. Milford HOLLOWAY, at Denver, Ind. Mrs. Feidner was a member of the Grass Creek E.U.B. church and was an active worker in that organization and numerous other projects throughout Union township. Survivors are: her husband, George H. FEIDNER, and the following children: Ruth, Charles, Sylvia, Myrtle, Curtis, David and Marion [FEIDNER]. Born in Circleville on November 27, 1929, to the late Arthur and Gertrude Pettit. Tom was a graduate of Circleville High School and the US Naval Academy, and served on the USS Douglas H. Fox. He received an MBA from The Ohio State University and had a career in sales. Along with his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife Lena (Kahrig) Pettit and his brother, William Pettit. He is survived by his children, Jennie (Tom) Cherry, Susanne Brackman, and David (Rhonda) Pettit; step-children, Kathy (Jeff) Johnson, and Tony Gatten; siblings, Jack (Marilyn) Pettit, Leah Pettit, and Sally Emerine; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service to honor Tom will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 13, 2010, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna. Lebo, 90, formerly of 724 7th Street in Boone, passed away at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone on Friday evening, May 11, 2012. He was born on August 25, 1921 in Boone, Iowa the son of Gordon and Katherine (Schicker) Lebo. On August 25, 1946, he married Marjorie Wirtz at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Ray was a 1939 graduate of Boone High School. He farmed in Boone County until 1968 before moving to Ames, Iowa where Ray worked in the Vet Med Lab at Iowa State University. In 1992, the couple returned to Boone to make their home and in December of 2006, moved to the Eastern Star Masonic Home. Ray enjoyed woodworking, gardening and fishing. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Boone for over 75 years; a 50 year member of the Masons Mt. Olive #79 AF&AM; and a past member of the Order of Eastern Star Magi Chapter #139. Ray had been active in Boone County 4-H; served on various County Extension Service Committees and was a past member of the Master Swine Producers of Iowa. His parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and his identical twin brother Roy, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Marjorie of Boone; a daughter Marlene Gustafson and husband Jim of Urbandale, Iowa; a grandson Michael Gustafson of Eagle River, Alaska; a granddaughter Amy deBuhr and husband Brian of Urbandale, Iowa; a great-grandson Benjamin deBuhr; and several nieces and nephews. Feidner, Rochester; and Marion Feidner, Kewanna; sisters, Lorraine Moore, Smithville, Tenn., Sylvia Hartshorne, Salem, and Ruth McCullough, Dickson, Tenn.; and two half-sisters, Mary Todd, Crawfordsville, and Martha Bryant, Auburn. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kurtis Feidner, and half-brother George Feidner. Memorial services are at 1 p.m. April 9 at Living Water Christian Church, Winamac.
