She was born May 20, 1914, in Coldwater District southeast of Ashley, ND. She was the daughter of Gottlieb and Elizabeth (Schock) Heinrich. After her education she helped on the family farm. On December 4, 1932, Mary married Jacob Erlenbusch and to this union five daughters were born. Mary cooked for many threshing crews. Her greatest joy was her families, playing cards and Yahtzee with her grandchildren. Jacob died February 4, 1999 and Mary continued living at her home in Forbes. Mary was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Forbes where she served as organist for over 50 years and was active in the Lutheran Womens' Missionary League attending two national conventions. She was also active in 4-H and was a charter member of Dakota Maid Homemakers Club. Survivors include: four daughters: Betty Morris, Phyllis Anliker, Mary Ann Gagne, Dianna Key; one brother: Ervin Heinrich; three sisters-in-law: Arlena, Martha and Viola Heinrich; one brother-in-law: Edwin Schauer; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren. Fred Brubach; one daughter, Mrs. Elmer M. (Marjorie Doerr) Hamaker of Mansfield; a step-daughter, Mrs. D. M. Leuthner of Mansfield; two grandchildren. Virginia Fetzer was born April 5, 1937, at Wishek, the daughter of William and Amanda (Boschee) Fetzer. She grew up and attended rural school in the Wishek area. She married Oliver W. Bettenhausen on Oct. 18, 1957, at rural Evangelical Brotherhood Church, Wishek. They farmed until 1998 when they moved into Wishek. She battled cancer for more than 20 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Wishek, where she was a deaconess and Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of White Cross, Dorcas Society, Gideon Auxiliary and Homespun Friends Quilting club. She is survived by her husband; four sons, Reggie (Peggy) and Cordell, both Wishek, Kerry (Pamela), Venturia, N.D., and Joel (Karen), Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Valerie (Gary), Hanssen, Kearney, Mo., and Linnea (Jeffrey) Pintur, Cambridge, Ontario, Canada; four brothers, Robert, Wishek, Eugene (JoAnn), Garrison, N.D., Milton (Sherry), Castle Rock, Colo., and Tim (Jean), Shakopee, Minn.; two sisters, Geraldine (Lawrence) Lippert, Williston, N.D., and Lorraine (Roland) Ketterling, Bismarck, N.D.; and 16 grandchildren. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm Thursday, February 27, at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck. Altrude was born February 18, 1914, in Parshall, ND, to Benjamin and Minnie (Triebwasser) Reiswig. She was raised and educated in Lincoln Valley. Her family later moved to McClusky, ND. Altrude married Jake Hoffer on April 8, 1934, and the couple farmed north of McClusky for ten years. While living in McClusky, Altrude provided domestic services for many families. Altrude moved to Bismarck in 1960. She worked at St. Alexius Medical Center for ten years, and at the Baptist Home for another ten years, she retired in 1986. Altrude was a member of the United Methodist Church in McClusky. She liked canning and gardening, quilting, crocheting afghans, and embroidery was an important and enjoyable part of her life. She loved to help people. Altrude always made sure all of her family had plenty of crocheted dishtowels. She was deeply loved and cherished by her family and friends. Altrude is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Frieda Hoffer, Garrison, William "Bill" and LuAnn Hoffer, Mesa, AZ; two daughters and one son-in-law, Bernice Just, Vancouver, WA, and Jane and Kenneth Renz, Moffit; six grandsons, Bryan, Bruce, Steve, Pete, and Rodney Hoffer, and Jason Renz; seven granddaughters, Sue Hornstein, Pam Silbernagel, Becky Boyd, Cheryl McAllister, Kimberly Taglor, Sheila Just, and DeeAnn Foster; 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; four brothers, Sam (Elsie) Reiswig, Lawrence Reiswig, Elroy (Ruth) Reiswig, and Norris Reiswig; daughter-in-law, Betty Hoffer, Mesa, AZ; many nieces and nephews; and good friends. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at Bismarck Baptist Church, with the Rev. Donald Burnett officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Irene was born March 30, 1921, to John and Katherine [Raile] Rau. She was raised and educated in Napoleon. She worked on the farm at home until Dec. 10, 1944, when she married Roland Grenz. They moved to Bismarck in 1955. She worked with her sister, Laura Becker, for Interior Designs, doing painting and staining work for 18 years. She retired after her daughter, Brenda, was born and she became a full-time homemaker. After raising her daughter, she provided daycare for her two grandkids from 1992 until 2004. Most important to Irene were her family and her church. She was a member of Bismarck Baptist Church. She always enjoyed preparing a lunch to share with family and friends who stopped by. She enjoyed reading, walking, shopping, cooking and working. Her favorite times of all were when she was taking care of her grandkids. She is dearly remembered as a woman who always put the needs of her family ahead of hers. Irene is survived by her husband, Roland Grenz, Bismarck; one daughter, Brenda Grewatz, and her fiance, Bryan Njos, both of Bismarck; two grandchildren, Kayla and Austin Grewatz, Bismarck; one brother, Walter Rau, Napoleon; three sisters, Helen Wentz and Alvina Kemmet, both of Napoleon, and Laura Becker, Bismarck; and numerous nieces and nephews.
