Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at Turtle Lake United Methodist Church with the Rev. Peder Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Turtle Lake Cemetery.
Gertie was born Oct. 9, 1909, near Underwood, one of 10 children born to Andreas and Magdalena (Schlechter) Sayler. She grew up on her parents' farm southwest of Underwood and attended rural school. She created many embroidered and crocheted keepsakes for her family. In 2003, she sold her house and moved to the Sheridan Home in McClusky. She later moved to the Prairieview Nursing Home, where she had made her home since 2006. Gertie always looked forward to Sayler family reunions in Underwood.
