Clara Ida Brockel, 88, of Forsyth passed away on Monday, July 11, 2005, in the Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth.
Mrs. Brockel was born on Aug. 16, 1916, the daughter of John and Magdaline Stroh Waltz, at Elmer. She was raised on the homestead and received her education in the area country schools near Elmer.
She was united in marriage to Leonard Brockel on June 6, 1936.
During the first years of their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Brockel made their home between Gardiner and Mountain Home, Idaho, working on a variety of construction projects. They subsequently made their home in Forsyth where she resided until the time of her death.
Mrs. Brockel had a talent for sewing and did alterations for various clothing establishments in Forsyth as well as private parties. In addition to raising their four children, she enjoyed gardening and tending her flower beds for the enjoyment of all who passed by her home.
In her later years, she liked to read and do crossword puzzles. Although she was able to travel frequently with her children, she always enjoyed returning home to Montana.
Survivors include her son, Curt Brockel of Forsyth; her daughters, Arlene Brockel and Terri Brockel of Portland, Ore., and Sharon Wortman of Missoula; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Justin, Damien and Cameron Brockel, and Yvonne, Bryan and Michael Wortman; five great-grandchildren, Alex, Colter and Mikaela Brockel and Sarah and Robyn Christianson; her sister Irene (Niles) Thomas of Medford, Ore.; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lee and Jolene Brockel of Whitefish.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; her parents; her sisters, Kate Waltz, Caroline Woodward, Matilda Miller, Emma Coy, Anne Hicks and Christine Holmes; and her brother, John Waltz.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2005, in the Chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth.
Burial followed in the Forsyth Cemetery.

Barbara "Bervel" Broeckel was daughter of Peter and Dorothea Broeckel.
Rosebud, Montana, March 1939.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Booth Funeral Chapel, for Mrs. Barbara Brockel, 55, of Vanstel, Montana, who passed away friday in the Rosebud Memorial Hispital following a long illness.
Services were in charge of Reverend A. A. Bachanz of the Lutheran church, which were read in German and English. The Lutheran choir sang and Miss Rose Saur sang, accompanied by Mrs. Bacchanz.
Mrs. Brockel was born October 02, 1884, at Cherson, Peterstal, Russia, and was united in marriage to William Brockel on June 25, 1903, to which union 12 children were born, eight of whom survive. Mr. and Mrs. Brockel came to America in 1909 and settled at Hecla, South Dakota, until 1915 when they established their homestead at Vanstel, where they still lived.
Survivors include the husband; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Lincoln of Bozeman, Montana, Mrs. Wilbur Bayne of Livingston, Montana, and Mrs. August Hein of Forsyth, Montana; five sons, Leonard of Gardner, Montana, Henry of Bozeman, Philip, Wiliam Jr., and Lee, all of Vanstel.
Casket bearers were Ed Martin, Fred Sauer, Chris Dobler, G. Schoenhalz, and Albert Regester. Interment followed in the Forsyth Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mr. Alfred Gemar, Sr., 84, of Mayna, LA will be held at Mayna Church of God on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Bro. Lloyd Trisler and Bro Marion Trisler officiating. Interment will follow at Pala Alto under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Mr. Gemar was born April 1, 1925 in Norco, LA to John Alfred and Mary Trisler Gemar. He passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in Mayna. He was employed by International Paper Co. in Natchez for 34 years. In addition to his work with IP he was also a farmer. Mr. Alfred attended Mayna Church of God and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. His pleasures in life were fishing and spending time with his grand children.
He was preceded in Death by:
Parents; one brother, Sam C. Gemar and one sister, Anna Belle Nixon
Survivors include:
Wife of 55 years Faith Gemar of Mayna, La.
Daughter-Carol Wiley and husband Topper of Mayna, La.
Son-Alfred Gemar, Jr. and wife Paulette of Mayna, La.
Four grandchildren-Johnny Gemar and wife Jennifer, Bill Wiley, Jarrod Gemar and wife Summer, and Sarah Wiley
Four great grandchildren-Lillian Faith Gemar, Sam Gemar, Zoyle Gemar and Eli Gemar
The Pallbearers will be Bill Wiley, Johnny Gemar, Jarrod Gemar, Buck Andrews, Glen Cooper, J.W. Ryder, Kevin Trisler and James Lee Paul.
The Honorary Pallbearers will be James White, J.M. Trisler, Jackie McNeely, Lester White, Jerry D. Book, Rusty Bruit, J.W. Calhoun and David Paul.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Vanstel church for Mrs. Dora Brockel, mother of Mrs. William Brockel, who died Wednesday at the ranch home of her daughter north of Vananda, after a lingering illness from cancer at the age of almost 77 years. The rites were conducted by Reverend H. Nagel, Lutheran minister from Billings, Montana, and interment occurred in the Vansel cemetery.
The deceased was born August 08, 1853, at Peterstahl, South Russia, where she grew to womanhood and married. In 1909, after the death of her husband, she, and her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Brockel, came to America and settled at Selby, South Dakota. Then in 1915 they came to Rosebud County and filed on a homestead in the Blacktail country. She was a member of the German Lutheran church since early womanhood.
In addition to her daughter, the deceased is survived by eight grandchildren, Mrs. Shirley Lincoln of Bozeman, Miss Barbara Brockel and Miss Elizabeth Brockel of Forsyth; also Leonard, William Jr., Henry, Phillip, and Lee Brockel, who still live on the home ranch. A son died in Russia.
In addition to a host of friends and neighbors several were present at the funeral from Vananda and Forsyth.

Alice Milke, 84, Gorham, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at St. John's Health Care Center, Victoria.
She was born Aug. 16, 1927, in Gorham to Alexander "Alex" and Elizabeth (Kisner) Mermis.
She married Francis Joseph Milke on April 29, 1947, in Walker. He preceded her in death March 16, 2009. She was a homemaker and a farmer. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Gorham, and Russell Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Kobbe and husband, Randy, Powell, Wyo.; a brother, Elmer Mermis and wife, Delores, Russell; a sister, Evelyn Warfield, Parkersburg, W.Va.; a brother-in-law, Clarence Milke, Hays; two sisters-in-law, Mary Mermis, Gorham, and Sr. Gerry Milke C.S.J., Concordia; three grandchildren, Terry Milke and wife, Tammie, Angela Wilson and Miki Wilson; and a great-grandchild, Trenton Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Gary Milke and Larry Milke; three brothers, Alphonse Mermis, Ralph Mermis and Edwin Mermis; two sisters, Sr. Concepta Mermis C.S.J. and Henrietta Sommers; and an infant brother, Daniel Mermis.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Gorham; burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Gorham.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the chruch.
A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to St. Mary Catholic Church, Gorham, in care of the mortuary.
