Alexander Wright 'A.W.' Lilly was born August 2, 1921, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (Oklahoma County), son of James G. Lilly and Edith W. (maiden name unknown).
He passed away July 3, 2008 following a lengthy illness. He was born August 2, 1921 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Preceded in death by brothers, James and Pete; sisters Edith May, Beulah and Pauline; wives Esther Evelyn and Ina Jewell. Survived by daughters Deborah Lilly English and Donna Lilly; stepchildren Gary, Vicki, Madonna, Tina, Kim and Roger; grandchildren Michelle Plunkett and Andrew English.
Services will be held Wednesday July 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Hahn-Cook/Street and Draper, Oklahoma City, with burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to James L. West Alzheimers Center, Ft. Worth, Texas, or the Alzheimers Association - North Central Texas Chapter, Ft. Worth, Texas. Hahn-Cook/Street and Draper Funeral Directors.

Albert "Al" Croissant, 64, died Saturday, July 21, at his home. He was born March 16, 1926, to Jacob and Elizabeth (Roth) Croissant in Johnstown.
Mr. Croissant moved with his parents to Hardin at age 2. He attended schools in Hardin and Kersey and then farmed with his father and brothers, On January 15, 1948, he married Erma Jean Vogel at the La Salle Baptist Church. They moved to New Maymer in 1974 where he farmed and ranched. They came to Greeley in May, 1984.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of La Salle, the New Raymer Lions Club and the Cattlemen's Association.

BELPRE - Merle Tuttle Gales, 81, died Sept. 14. She was born Oct. 12, 1919 the daughter of James and Lydia Tuttle. She was a 1938 graduate of Belpre High School. She married Roger P. Gales Nov. 14, 1939. A resident of Buffalo, Okla. since 1995 coming from Belpre. Survivors include one son, Gary Roger Gales of Wichita; two daughter, Mary Ann Eveland of Wichita and Debra Sue Waddle of Buffalo; 12 grandchildren, one step-grandchild; 26 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and two step-great grandchildren. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard's Church in Belpre with the Rev. Dennis L. Reed officiating. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. on Tuesday and Minnis Chapel in Macksville. Memorials are suggested to the church or the American Cancer Society both in care of the funeral home.

Harry Feigner said parents bought their place at Sunnyside from John Link in 1918. Link is Otto Jaekel's step-father.

Lucille Dion Fuhrman was born April 26,1919 To Nora and Charles Stevicks in Lucas South Dakota and passed away July 1, 2011 at the Burke Community Memorial Hospital.
Lucille was married to Frank Dion and to this union two daughters were born. Frank Passed away in 1976 and Lucille married Reinhold Fuhrman in 1979. Reinhold passed away in 1994.
Lou as she was called loved her flowers, sewing, gardening and drawing pictures. She enjoyed her bingo, and loved to play cards with her family.
Lou is survived by her daughters Betty Sextro (Dave) of Butte Nebraska, and Mary Fahrenbacher (Joe) of Burke South Dakota, five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren, one brother Roy Stevicks and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, two husbands, one grandson, six sisters, Goldie, Hazel, Maude, Hattie, Mildred and Viola, four brothers, Lee, Edd, Lloyd and Theodore.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

James Alvin Perlenfein was born December 21, 1923 to John and Lydia (Zimbelman) Perlenfein in Butte, Nebraska and died June 15, 2011 at the Lake Andes Health Care Center in Lake Andes, South Dakota at the age of 87 years.
James was united in marriage to Lillie Velma Hoppe on July 12, 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairfax, SD. To this union four children were born: David, Gail, Larry and Anita.
Jim enlisted in the Navy in 1945 and was honorably discharged later that year. He spent the next few years working on the Ft. Randall Dam along with various other construction jobs. In 1959 Jim and Lillie returned to Bonesteel to take over the family farm. In 1982 they retired from farming and opened Hungry Jims, grocery/convenience store. In 1986 they sold the business and Jim worked for Divine Concrete until his official retirement at the age of 75 years.
Jim was a member of the American Legion Post #36 of Bonesteel and also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for which he was an elder and an usher for many years.
He is survived by his wife Lillie of 61 years, sons, David (Carol), Larry (Kelly), daughters Gail (Mike) Engen, Anita (Kelly) Jorgensen, grandchildren: Amy Koenig, Scott Perlenfein, Eric Larson, Angela Larson, Tyler Perlenfein, Alicia Bond, Haley Jorgensen, Hannah Jorgensen, step-grandchildren: Elliot, Jordan, Olivia and Ian Engen, Shawna Bartow and Tiffany Sylvester, 13 great-grandchildren 4 step-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Esther Wuest of Butte, NE.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law George Wuest.

Freda Scheerer died Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Potter Ridge, Red Wing, where she was the first resident 5 ½ years ago.
Freda was born April 30, 1915, to Henry and Anna Marie (Steigman) Huber near Carson, North Dakota where she lived most of her life. She married August J. Scheerer November 17, 1935, at Emmaus Congregational United Church of Christ where she had also been baptized and confirmed. They farmed northwest of Carson where they raised Richard and Carol. In 1972 they moved into Carson where they lived until August's death in 1996.
Freda moved to Mason City, Iowa to be near Richard and then to Faribault, Minnesota in 2002. In 2005 she moved to Red Wing near her grandson, Ian, and was followed by Richard and Nancy. She loved to travel and made annual extended visits to Carol in Bend, Oregon and to see her extensive family. She was known for her strong and supportive spirit that was undergirded by her cooking, baking, hospitality and prayer. She and August rarely offered food that wasn't raised and processed by themselves and were often "home" to family members in difficult times.
She is survived by her children, Reverend Richard (Nancy) Scheerer of Red Wing and Carol Doran of Bend, OR and Red Wing; grandchildren, Ian (Natasha Yates) Scheerer of Red Wing and Angela (Tom) Kelly of Lincoln, NE; great-grandchildren, Jessica, David and Justin Scheerer and Jonah and Allison Kelly; brother, Robert Huber of Eagan, MN; sister, Vi Richardson of Mt. Vernon, WA; brother-in-laws, Alvin Scheerer of Auburn, IN and Glen Karow of Madison, WI; sister-in-laws, Roberta Huber of Portland, OR and Vi Huber of Vancouver, WA and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, August; an infant son; brothers, William, Albert, Edward, Herbert, Rudolph, Arnold, Calvin and Harold and sisters, Emma Wentworth and Esther Zimbelman.
Funeral service will be 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at the Emmaus Congregational Cemetery in Carson, North Dakota on Saturday, July 9, 2011 with a public visitation at the Carson Community Center at 2:30 p.m. with family present. Memorials preferred to First Presbyterian Church of Red Wing, the United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities, New Brighton, MN or the Emmaus Congregational Cemetery Fund, Carson, ND.
