Funeral services for Raymond Clinton Martin, 88, of Menno Village, Chambersburg, formerly of Pinola, will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Rowe Mennonite Church, 754 Pinola Road, Shippensburg. He died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, in Chambersburg Hospital's emergency room. Born April 17, 1914, in Southampton Township, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Calvin and Alice Martin Martin. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cora Hawbaker Martin, who died April 2, 1975. Mr. Martin was the owner and operator of the Pinola Hatchery for many years. He served on the board of Orrstown Bank in Shippensburg for 36 years, the board of Menno Haven in Chambersburg for 31 years and the board of CROSS Inc. in Pinola. He was a member of Rowe Mennonite Church, Shippensburg. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Helen Boll Martin; a daughter, Rose Mary Keener of Hagerstown; five sons, R. Galen and Allen, both of Shippensburg, Eugene of Newburg, Guy of Lancaster and Dwight of Spring Run; four stepsons, James Boll of West Liberty, Ky., Marlin and Nelson Boll, both of Lititz, and Leon Boll of Mount Joy; a sister, Alice Mae Horst of Chambersburg; 51 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; and 21 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister, a stepdaughter, a granddaughter, a step-grandson and a step-great-grandson. Pastors Kenneth Wadel, John Horst and James Boll will officiate at Monday's services. Burial will be in the Rowe Cemetery, Southampton Township, Franklin County. Dreiling, Marvin J., 79, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 26, 2008. Rosary service 7:00 P.M. Monday, July 28, 2008 at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. Funeral mass 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 861 N. Socora in Wichita. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 P.M. at Lakin Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Marvin was born on October 31, 1928 in Victoria, Kansas to Agatha and Aquilinus Dreiling. He moved to Ellinwood as a teenager and eventually had his own business manufacturing oilfield production equipment. As a young man, Marvin moved with his family to Wichita where he worked as a maintenance superintendent in the petroleum and trucking industries. He was known for his innovative mind and dedication to his work. After retiring from Universal Lubricants in Wichita, Marvin pursued his lifelong artistic talent at wood carving and metal sculpturing. He was devoted to his family and always willing to help all in need. Due to his father's untimely death, Marvin was regarded as the patriarch of the family. Survivors: wife, Thelma; children and their spouses, Charlene Dreiling, Dennis and Dawn Dreiling, Ruth and Mike Blick, Rich and Sarah Dreiling, Mark Dreiling, Carol and Joe Critchlow; grandchildren, Jennifer, Allison, and Brian Ray, Michelle and Cory Dreiling, Jason and Megan Blick, Rebecca, Felicia, Melissa, Nicholas, Daniel, and Anastasia Dreiling, Travis and Jonathan Critchlow; brother, Harold Dreiling and family; brother-in-law, Donald Warnken and family. Preceding Marvin in death were his parents; brother, Kenneth; sister, Twyla Warnken; infant granddaughter, Nicole. Anna Brendt Dies in Gila General Hospital
Mrs Anna Brendt 66, died last Thursday in the Gila General Hospital. Rosary was said Sunday evening in the Walker's Globe Mortuary and Mass said Monday morning in the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Globe with Rev James E McFadden officiating. Burial was in the Pinal Cemetery.
Mrs Brendt was born Oct 5, 1889 in St. Paul Minn. She has lived in Arizona for the past two years with her daughter Mrs. Helen Lewis at Ice House Canyon, Globe for the past 6 months.
She is survived by a son, Elmer Brendt, Miles City, Montana; five daughters, Mrs Helen Lewis, Globe, Mrs Ruth Bailey, Tempe, Mrs Olive Remine, Lorraine, Minn and Mrs Violet Caudill and Mrs Hilda Fore both of Billings, Mont; one brother Max Hammerschmidt St. Paul. Minn. Three sisters Mrs Emil Foreman, Hastings, Neb., Mrs Catherine Wiesbeck, Herreid, South Dakota and Mrs Susie Smith, Kansas City, Mo., and 14 Grandchildren.
Anna Married Jacob B Berndt Dec 1915, he was a widower with two daughters. Her husband Jacob "Jake" died when a car he was working on fell on him in 1923 and was buried in S. Dakota.
It's said that Jake changed the spelling of his last name from Berndt to Brendt due to the fact that someone else had the same name as his and he kept getting their mail.

Robert E. Hines, 83, of Grand Island died Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Edgewood Vista. Robert was born Feb. 29, 1928, in Grand Island to Harold and Myrtle (Mason) Hines.
Robert married Edna Poehler on March 4, 1947. She preceded him in death, as did a son, Bob, and a daughter, Dorothy.
Survivors are: sons, Glenn and Susan Hines of Carpenter, S.D., and Ralph and Sam of Omaha; daughters, Gloria Englehaupht of Springfield, Ore., Betty and John Kludy of Hesperia, Mich., Nancy Vara of Grand Island, and Carol and Gary Campbell of Omaha; daughter-in-law, Donna Hines of North Platte; and brothers, Howard Hines of Waldorf, Md., Ernest E. and Jane Hines of Lincoln and Donald Hines of Chatsworth, Calif; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Robert attended school in Grand Island. Robert worked at Webb's Livestock, was a self-employed plasterer, worked for Tracer's Dairy Farm, and was a retired custodian of Starr School in Grand Island.
Robert was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Worms, member of the Elks, Sons of the Legion, loved to play pool, checkers, chess, fish and hunt. His lawn was very important to him, as were the Christmas lights on the house for the holidays.
Robert was also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Durden; and brothers, Harold "Pickles" and Irvin.

Mrs. J. R. Wharton, 87, Fredonia, died Monday afternoon in Fredonia after six weeks illness.
Born at West Point, IA., Mrs. Wharton attended Bethel College, Newton. Before moving to Fredonia several years ago, she lived on a farm near Meade.
Mrs. Wharton is survived by her husband, Jesse, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Wynn Hull, Junction, and Mrs. Henry Williams, Washington, D. C.; three sisters, Mrs. Sam Judy and Mrs. Amelia Beutler, both of Hutchinson, and Mrs. John Frey, Wichita; and four grandsons.
Burial will be at Fredonia.

Fred passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Good Samaritan Center in Sioux Falls.
Fred Mittleider was born October 22, 1918 to Carl and Mathilda (Aldinger) Mittleider on a farm south of Bowdle. In 1926 they moved to the Java area, where he finished his education.
In 1936 he worked with the C.C.C. Camp which was Civilian Conservation Corps, near Newell, later at Lake Hiddenwood. He entered the Army on February 21, 1941 and served in the 7th Infantry 3rd Division in the European, African, and Middle eastern Theater. He was Honorable Discharged on July 14, 1945.
He returned to his parent's farm and did some farming and had a threshing machine crew. He married Viola Schlepp on December 21, 1947. They lived on their farm near Java. In 1955 they moved to Mobridge. He worked for Glader's Brothers, and then ran the Bulk Truck for Phillip 66 until he retired in 1980.
He started working part time for the Corps of Engineers. In 1984 he delivered mail for a rural route for one year for Bob Hare. He returned to work for the Corp of Engineers. In 1987 Davis Martin of Mobridge contracted Corp of Engineers Parks and Fred started working for Davis mowing the parks around Mobridge and Pierre.
In April of 2006 Fred and Viola moved to Aberdeen, SD to be closer to family. In October 2009 they resided at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls, SD.
Fred Mittleider kept busy all his life. He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger days and liked to hunt and fish with his friends and family. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play in sports and liked to spend time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by wife Viola of Sioux Falls, two sons Clyde (Cindy) Mittleider of Sioux Falls, SD, Jim (Monica) Mittleider of Gillette, WY, three daughters Peggy Zeadow of Bladen, NE, Susan (Dennis of Sioux Falls, SD) Krell of Dakota Dunes, SD, and Bonnie (Terry) Lundberg of Aberdeen, SD, three sisters Ida Sekeres of Muskegon, MI, Elsie Keller of White Lake, SD, and Irene Kost of Herreid, SD, 18 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
Fred was preceded in death by his daughter Marilyn Huber, his parents, four brothers, two sisters, and a son-in-law Mark Zeabow.
Dad was truly loved and will be greatly missed.

MARION –– John J. Marlin Jr., 69, of Marion died Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at his home after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on Sept. 10, 1940, in Keokuk, the son of John J. Sr., and Dorothy E. (Summers) Marlin Dawkins.
He was a 1959 graduate of Cardinal Stritch High School, Keokuk.
He was in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962.
He married Sigrid Monika (Maag) Jacobs on July 19, 1997, in Marion. She survives.
John worked as a Realtor in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and Marion from 1977 to 2010.
In 1997, he started his own brokerage company, Marlin Realty Consultants. He was a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Iowa Association of Realtors, and many other Realty Associations.
He also was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marion, American Legion Post 298 of Marion and the Knights of Columbus No. 5390 of Marion.
Additional survivors include: two daughters from a previous marriage, Christina (Randy) Meeker of Madrid, and Jo Ann Marlin (Sid Jones) of Des Moines; a stepson, William Allen Jacobs II of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Francis (Carol) Marlin of Keokuk, Mike (Nan) Marlin of Cedar Rapids and William (Sala) Marlin of Keokuk; two sisters, Kathleen Church of Florida and Therese (Ed) Wheatley of Columbia, Mo.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews; and his special dog, Lucy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law; father-in-law; a sister, Rose Marie Dinkleman; a brother, Robert Marlin; and a brother-in-law, Roger Church.
John and Monika were sponsors for a child from India through the Rev. John McClean's association with CFCA.
John enjoyed his family, boating on the Mississippi and retirement.
A memorial mass was held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Marion, with the Rev. Rod Allers officiating.
The family greeted friends from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion, with a wake beginning at 7 p.m., and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, with military rites provided by American Legion Post 298, Marion.
The family expressed appreciation to all of the help they received from Mercy Hospice of Cedar Rapids (Tracy, Tammy and Christina) and Dr. Marc Wilkinson of Marion.

Pete J Croissant, 70, of La Salle, died Thursday, Oct 13, at Weld County General Hospital.
He was born June 23, 1907, and lived in the La Salle area 34 years where he farmed.
On Dec 15, 1929, he married Elizabeth Rothman at La Salle.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; a daughter, Mrs. Roy A (Irene Mae) Schmidt of La Salle; a son Robert Croissant of Burlington; eight brothers, Henry of Covina, Calif., Chris of Reedley, Calif., Rhinie and Paul, both of Sterling, Roland, Harold and Elmer, all of Greeley, and Albert of Yuma; three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Elsie) Hooge of Springfield, Mo., Mrs. Archie (Linda) Glenn of Severance, and Mrs. Alfred (Florence) Reck of La Salle; six grandchildren, Kevin, Darwin and Kelly Sue Schmidt of La Salle, and Pam, Greg and Barry Croissant of Burlington.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Macy Allnutt Drawing Room. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

She was born Aug. 10, 1910, at Loveland to Karl and Elizabeth (Croissant) Rothman.
On Dec. 15, 1929, she was married to Pete J Croissant at La Salle. He died in Oct. 1977.
Mrs. Croissant was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in the La Salle area for many years. They moved from Hardin to La Salle in 1943.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of La Salle.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Irene) Schmidt of La Salle, a son, Robert Croissant of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. John (Emily) Hoffman of Grover and Mrs. Ezra (Christina) Buxman of Greeley; a brother, John Rothman of Paramount, Ca1if.; two stepsisters, Mrs. Martha Winters of Sonoma, Calif., and Mrs. Bertha Roth of Keenesburg; two stepbrothers, Albert and George Moser, both of Greeley; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Sutton resident Gilbert Hofmann, 80, died Tuesday Novemeber 11, at the Henderson Community Hospital in Henderson. Funeral services were held held Saturday, Novemeber 15, at Sutton Memorial Chapel with the Free German Reformed Salem Church Elders officiating. Burial was in the Free German Salem Church Cemetery near Sutton. Visitation was held on Friday Novemeber 14, at the funeral Chapel.
Gilbert was born January 21, 1928, near Sutton in Fillmore County to Theodore J. and Sophie (Griess) Hofmann. He received his education at District #8 country school in Fillmore County. On August 23, 1950 he married Minnie Griess in Aurora. Gilbert was a lifelong farmer and especially loved working with cattle.
He was a member of the Sutton Lions Club for 26 years and an Archer Oil dealer.
Gilbert is survived by wife Minnie of Sutton; son and daughter-in-law Lorraine and LuElla Hofmann of Sutton; daughters and son-in-laws Virginia and Dave Griess of Sutton; Barb and Ross Fisher of Fairfield; daughter-in-law Jocelyn Hofmann of Sutton; sister Rose Ehly and husband Art of Sutton; brother Ruben Hofmann of Sutton; sister-in-laws Louise Hofmann of Sutton; Dorothy Hofmann of Henderson; nine grandchildren and two great granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Rosa, one son Robert Hofmann, granddaughter Shannon Griess, two brothers Arthur Hofmann and Harold Hofmann and half sister Marge Huber.
