C. Q. Horton, about 55 years of age, who was a resident of Austin, TX was well known in Central and Southwest Texas as a bridge builder. He was instantly killed, on Saturday afternoon on the 3rd of January, 1914, when a bridge beam fell on his head while he was inspecting work on a bridge at Friendship. Interment was in Austin, TX. Survivors are three children: a son in Louisiana and two daughters who live in Austin.

Wealthy Foster married Septimus Horton in 1817 in Bedford Co., PA. They along with several family members migrated to Highland Co., Ohio in 1822. He died there on May 20, 1831. After her husband died in Ohio, she moved to Grant County Indiana where she lived for nearly 30 yrs. She is in the 1850 and 1870 census there. She then moved to Buda, Bureau Co., Illinois in her later years to be with her son and her sister Sarah (Foster) Horton and her husband Thomas. There she lived out her remaining years. The children of Septimus & Wealthy Horton follow (the first three were born in Pennsylvania and the rest were born in Ohio): David Foster Horton, Mary (Horton) Foster, Allen Horton, Levi Horton, Alfred Horton, Charles Wilson Horton, Carey T. Horton, and Foster Septimus Horton.

The daughter of BENJAMIN & DINAH (ACTON) PENN, she married BASIL FOSTER on April 19, 1778 in Anne Arundel Co., Maryland. The 1810 Hopewell Twp., Bedford Co., PA Fed. Census indicates that widow, Mary Foster, was living possibly with the family of one of her children. Some time between 1810 and the time that her will was written in 1828, she removed with her son, Thomas, from Pennsylvania to Highland Co., Ohio where her daughter & husband, ENOCH & MARY (FOSTER) ZINK lived, and it was here that Mary died.
In her will dated November 16, 1828, she names her daughter: Sarah Cheney, MARY ZINK, Elizabeth Horton; sons: Basil Foster, Jr., John Foster, Benjamin Foster, and "Thomas...all...my lands in the State of Pennsylvania, Bedford County". Witnesses: Abraham Lowman, John Lowman, John Fenner. Her will was proven July 27, 1829.

In his will written February 8, 1777, he commits his Soul unto "Almighty God my Savior and Redeemer in whom by the merits of Jesus Christ I trust and believe..." He bequeathed as follows:
...to my wife, Dinah Penn, one-third of my whole estate during her life.
...to my son, Charles Penn, one shilling sterling and no more.
...to my son, Edward, one shilling sterling and no more.
...to my daughter, Jane Murphey, a cow & calf and my sorrel horse and no more.
...to my son, Joseph Penn, a feather bed & furniture.
...to my daughter, Mary Penn, one Negro girl named Airy and a cow and calf.
...to my son, Benjamin Penn, five thousand weight of tobacco likewise a cow and calf.

It was acknowledged by Sam Hobbs, Thomas Rigby, & Jeremiah Duvall. It was subscribed by oath by Samuel Hobbs & Jeremiah Duvall on April 24, 1777. The widow renounced the legacies bequeathed to her and claimed what the law allows widows in cases where there are no children.

According to Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1500s-1900s, he immigrated to Maryland from England in 1700.
March 8 1705/6 Edward Penn of Anne Arundel county, Planter bought of Wm. Roper of the same county, planter, for a consideration of L520 sterling 100 acres of land know as "Penn's Purchase", being a portion of "Roper Gray", originally granted to the said Wm. Roper. The 100 acres later proved to be 106 acres. No wife of Wm. Roper waived dower rights.
