Grace C. Hawbaker, age 94, of Chambersburg, passed away November 25, 2014 at home with her family at her side. She was born May 14, 1920 in Chambersburg, PA to Amos and Ruth (Peckman) Bricker. She was the widow of the late Levi Hawbaker who died in 1982. Grace attended the Hamilton Heights God's Missionary Church. She was a homemaker, who was known for her baking and sewing skills. She was a committed Christian and followed with interest the activities of several Christian organizations. Her deep and expressive faith was an inspiration to many people. She had taught Sunday school classes for over forty years. Grace is survived by her four children: Delbert L. (husband of Jane M.) Hawbaker of Carlisle, Rev. John B. (husband of L. JoLene) Hawbaker of Harrisburg, Eileen R. (wife of Rev. Norman B.) Blowers of Chambersburg, and Clifford L. (husband of Magdalene J.) Hawbaker of Chambersburg. She has eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters: Rhoda Keller of Chambersburg, Ruth Osbaugh of Newburg, Verda Bricker of Chambersburg, Martha Meyers of Lemasters and a brother, John H. Bricker of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Daryl Hawbaker, one sister and six brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 1, 2014 at Salem United Brethren Church with Rev. Nathanael Mowery and Rev. John Hawbaker officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 till 4:00 PM and 6:00 till 8:00 PM at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be held at Salem Cemetery.
