Dale Wilbur Van Der Werff, son of Herman and Winnie (Watson) Van Der Werff, was born February 8, 1926 on a farm near Stickney, SD. He grew up and attended school in the Stickney area. He then drove truck for William Hargens before entering the U.S. Army and serving during the Korean Conflict.
Dale was united in marriage with Dorothy B. Moos in Luverne, MN on April 20, 1951. The couple lived in Alabama, where Dale was stationed. After his honorable discharge, they moved to Sioux Falls, SD. He drove truck for Howard Falon Oil Company for 17 years. He then drove for Metz Baking Company an additional 17 years before retiring in 1988.
Dale was a member of Sunnycrest United Methodist Church and attended Men's Group there. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking and making gifts out of wood for church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clifford and Lynn.

Dale heiratete Moos, Dorothy Bernice am 20 Apr 1951 in Luverne, Rock County, Minnesota, USA.
