A graveside service will begin at 3 p.m. Monday at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery for James A. Stanton, who died Tuesday, July 29, 1997, in Mesa. He was 79.
Survivors include his wife, Cressie, at home; three daughters, Joy Robinson of Camas, Jody Barton of Yachats, Ore., and Jeanette Cox of Seaside, Ore.; one son, James A. of Camas; one sister, Olga Neese of Chandler, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Born May 19, 1918, in Boise, Idaho, Mr. Stanton lived in the Camas area from 1945 until he retired in 1980 and moved to Mesa. He worked for the Crown Zellerbach paper mill in Camas for 35 years. Mr. Stanton was an avid bowler.

James heiratete Chick, Cressie Gelna in 1978.
