Emma B. Wiist, 83, of Texline, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. (CDT) today in Texline United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Hestand, pastor, and the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor of First Baptist Church of Clayton, N.M., officiating. Burial will be in Texline Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.
Mrs. Wisst was born in Little Rock, Ark. She married Oscar R. Wiist in 1935 in Henrietta. She and her husband moved to the Texline area in 1947, where they farmed until 1975. She sold Avon from 1975 until 1993. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the Draper Community Home Demonstration Club, Texline Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988.
Survivors include two sons, Bob Wiist of Amarillo and Bill Wiist of Lakewood, Colo.; three brothers, John Hussey of Long Beach, Calif., Elmer Hussey of Benton, Ark., and William Hussey of Eureka, Calif.; a sister, Velma Wilson of Porterville, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be to the Texline Cemetery Fund.
