"Norma Wirtz, 84, of Ames died, Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 28 at Adams Funeral Home. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2009 at First United Methodist Church, Ames. Burial will be in the Roland Cemetery.
Norma was born in Austin, MN, Sept. 5, 1924 to Peter and Leonora (Erickson) Henderson. She was a 1942 graduate of McCallsburg High School. Norma married Lemuel "Lem" Wirtz on January 14, 1945 in McCallsburg. They moved to Ames from Nevada in 1959. She was a bookkeeper at Collegiate Pacific. Norma was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the church circle. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and church circles in Nevada. Norma enjoyed all kinds of stitchery, camping, traveling and visiting with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Art (Kathy) of Gilbert, AZ; three sisters, Alice (Myron) Pickering of Des Moines, Pauline (Dick) Thomas of Maxwell, Lucille Lillard of Collins; four grandchildren, Adam Wirtz, Kelly (Aaron) Stephens, Lisa (Jeff) Cox and Laura Robillard; four great grandchildren Nora Stephens, Haven Robillard, and Dalton and Dakota Cox; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lem, (2002); daughter, Judy Breitwieser, (1987), grandson, Kurt Breitwieser, (1999) and twos sister, Pearl and Alta.

Norma heiratete Wirtz, Lemuel A. am 14 Jan 1945 in McCallsburg, Story County, Iowa, USA. Lemuel (Sohn von Wirtz, Adolph Walter und Wirtz, Clara - wife of) wurde geboren am 21 Mai 1920 in Boone, Boone County, Iowa, USA; gestorben am 26 Mrz 2002 in Ames, Story County, Iowa, USA; wurde beigesetzt in Roland Cemetery, Roland, Story County, Iowa, USA.
