The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Sept. 19 for Frances J. Himber of Eugene, who died Sept. 14 of kidney failure. She was 72.
Himber was born Jan. 15, 1933, in St. Francis, Kan., to Leonard and Lola Browning Zimbelman. She married Dorlon Himber on Aug. 22, 1953, in Fort Lewis, Wash.
She attended grade school in St. Francis and later moved to Medford, where she graduated from Medford High School. She moved back to Kansas before settling in Eugene in 1952.
Himber was a homemaker who enjoyed golf, flower gardening and playing bridge and gin rummy. Her family said she loved holidays and family gatherings. She belonged to St. Peter Catholic Church, the Eugene Eagles lodge and Springfield Country Club.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Dave and Greg, both of Eugene, and Steve of Byers, Colo.; a daughter, Kathy Thompson of Eugene; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at Poole-Larsen Funeral Home in Eugene.
Monday's service will be at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Catholic Church. Private burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
