    OBITUARY
    BISCHOFF, Emma (Age 95)
Was born December 28, 1912 and died July 6, 2008 at EARH in Ritzville. Emma was born at Batum, WA to John and Sophia (Trautman) Greenwalt. She went through grades one to six at the Ferderer Corner. They walked two and one quarter miles each way to school, until the horses were not used for farming. Then they rode the horses or used the sleigh lined with hot bricks to school. She met the love of her life, Emil Bischoff, and was married on April 12, 1933. In 1935 Norman was born and in 1936 Loretta (Bischoff) Knoll was born. They farmed 12 miles south of Lind from 1933 until November of 1959 when Norman and Patti were married. They took over the ranch, and Emma and Emil moved to Ritzville to the house Emil built. Emma was active in the Hospital Auxiliary, Faith-Hope Circle and Quilting Queens. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church. She was a wonderful and caring mother; her love was for embroidery, crocheting, cooking, and gardening; raising her children in the Christian faith and loving her grandchildren with great passion. She was a hard working woman and loved the Lord. Those preceding her in death are parents John and Sophia; brothers: John, Pete and Art; sister Yetta Melcher and son Norman. Survivors include daughter Loretta Knoll, sister-in-law Esther Greenwalt and daughter-in-law Patti Bischoff, 11 nieces and nephews, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, July 10, 2008 from 12:00 noon to 5 PM at the funeral home and prior to the Funeral Service Friday, July 11, 2008 at Emanuel Lutheran Church-Ritzville at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Ritzville. DANEKAS FUNERAL HOME-RITZVILLE is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions are suggested to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 206 S Division, Ritzville, WA 99169.
