Mrs. May E. Simpson, 1720 Sangamon Ave, a resident of Springfield for the last 41 years, and wife of James I. Simpson, died at 4:10 a.m. yesterday at her residence. She was 80 years old.
Mrs. Simpson had been ill for the last month. Surviving are her husband; a son, Harold Young, city; a daughter, Mrs Blanch E. Green, Henderson, KY; a sister, Mrs. Blanch Wiley Lawrence KS.; 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the United Brethren church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at Vancil funeral home and at 2:30 p.m. at the United Brethren Church. Rev. B.C. Stine will officiate and burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Harold Frank "Fat" Young born January 30, 1887 and died May 17, 1943, married to Bertie Susan (Armstrong), daughter or John Henry Armstrong and Eliza Jane (Barnett).
He was a retired coal mine maneger and a fireman for the John Hay Homes in Springfield.
He is survived by wife, children: Ralph David Young with Lois Merrell (Cook); James Harold Young with Myrtle May (Zimbelman); Ruth Marcella Young with Vernon Jerome Perry, Hazel Fern Young with Melvin Virgil Peel; May Elizabeth Young with Ross Eugene Delay; and Margorie Marie Young with John White.
He was preceded in death by his mother, May Elizabeth Moys-Young-Simpson and son Edwin Arthur Young.
He was the son of Samuel Wallace Young and May Elizabeth Moys.

James H. (Curly) Young 49, of Santini's Trailor Court, 3207 S. 6th St. died at 12:50 a.m. Monday at St. Johns Hospital. He was a coal miner who lived almost his entire life at Edinburg.
He was a member of the Presyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, 2 sons, James of Pawnee and John of New City; a daughter, Mrs Susan Boyle of Cicero; his mother Mrs Bertie Young of Springfield; 1 brother, Ralph of Orange, CA; 3 sisters, Mrs Fern Peel and Mrs Ruth Perry, both of Edinburg, and Mrs Marjorie Torretto of Arlington Heights, and 3 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Raymond S. Knudson officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
