    Mrs. Annabel Steinhoff died Friday noon, September 30 at the age of 57 years 10 months and 6 days.
    She was born in Woodsfield, Ohio and came to Hornick at the age of 7 years.
    She was married to Jacob C. Steinhoff on March 2, 1897. Two daughters, Ada of Hornick, and Mrs. Leland Sholles of Council Bluffs were born to this union.
    Internment was made in Grace cemetery Monday, October 3.

    Ada Ann Steinhoff, 89, long-time resident of Hornick, Iowa died Thursday, June 25, 1992 at Countryside Retirement Home in Sioux City, Iowa after a lengthy illness.
    Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 29 at the Christy Morningside Funeral Home, with the Rev. Walter Enstrom of St. John’s Evangelical Church in German City, Iowa officiating. Burial was in Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City.
    Miss Steinhoff was born September 25, 1902, near Hornick, Iowa, the daughter of Jacob and Anna Belle (Unkel) Steinhoff. Her family moved from their country home into Hornick in 1927. She enlisted in the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps in Des Moines in December 1942, and was honorably discharged in May 1943. She moved to Countryside Retirement Home in May 1987.
    She was baptized and confirmed in St. John’s Evangelical Church and remained a life-long member. She joined the Gertrude Rebekah Lodge #553 at Hornick in 1930 and remained a member until they disbanded in 1963. She rose to the rank of a past noble grand member of the degree team.
    Survivors include her cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Esther.
