Bob was the 8th child born to John and Cristina Zimbelman. He was raised on a farm northwest of St. Francis and graduated from high school in 1938. On April 14, 1940 he married Edna Zweygardt at the Salem Lutheran Church. They had 2 sons Eldon and Ronnie.
Bob managed the cream station and later moved to the farm engaging in farming and dairy cattle. In 1960 he went to work as a salesman at Hancock Motor Company, and purchased the dealership in 1962, renaming it "Zimbelman Motor Company". Bob and Edna enjoyed traveling including trips to Sweden, Norway, Hawaii and Tahiti. After his retirement they enjoyed spending winters in Arizona enjoying playing lots of golf.
Bob was a caring and great leader serving on many boards including E.U.B. and Methodist churches. Was a lifetime member to the Goodland Elks Club and was a chartered member of the Riverside Recreation Country Club serving on the board for many years.
Bob loved the fellowship of family and friends, his church, music, singing, hunting and wheat harvesting time with his sons. He enjoyed the special times he got to spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Anybody that knew Uncle Bob, knows what I mean when I say, a special thing about him was "That Voice". Even before you'd see him, you'd know he was near because of his voice. He was 87 years old when he passed away.

Robert heiratete Zweygardt, Edna Pauline am 14 Apr 1940 in Saint Francis, Cheyenne County, Kansas, USA. Edna (Tochter von Zweygardt, Jacob E. und Walz, Eva) wurde geboren am 21 Nov 1918 in Saint Francis, Cheyenne County, Kansas, USA; gestorben am 30 Jun 2010 in Saint Francis, Cheyenne County, Kansas, USA; wurde beigesetzt in Saint Francis Cemetery, Saint Francis, Cheyenne County, Kansas, USA.
