eRoy W. Pinter, 85, of rural Arlington, died at 8:20 a.m. April 9, 2000, in the Spring Valley Nursing Center where he had been a resident for three weeks.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Hurst Funeral Home, Ladd, and a Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, Cherry with the Rev. Kevin Gorman, O.S.B. officiating. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Miner's Memorial Cemetery, Cherry.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with a Rosary said at 6:15 p.m.
Mr. Pinter was born Aug. 10, 1914, in Westfield Township to Jacob P. and Phillippina (Hahn) Pinter. He married Lucille Gillan on Feb. 22, 1941, in Holy Trinity Church.
He farmed in Westfield Township all of his working life. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church and Ladd Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille; one daughter, Debra (Nick) Trahd of Princeton; six sons, Gerald (Suzie) Pinter of Logan, Iowa, Wayne (Barbara) Pinter of rural Arlington, Melvin (Kathy) Pinter of Mendota, Larry (Pat) Pinter of Cherry, Ron (Carol) Pinter of Freeport and Mark (Collette) Pinter of Somonauk; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Rose Gillan of Cherry.
He preceded in death by two grandchildren and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren Greg, Ray, Dan, Tyson, Brian and Doug Pinter.
