Leon H. Croissant, 78, of Loveland, died Nov. 22, 1998, at his home. He was born Nov. 1, 1922, in Johnstown, to Henry and Pauline Neubauer Croissant. He married Viola C. Gettman on Dec. 12, in Loveland.
He was a farmer and cattle feeder on the family farm in Johnstown, where he was born and raised. He retired in 1987. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving 22 months in the Phillippines. He lived in the Loveland Johnstown area all of his life. He was an active member of Loveland First Congregational Church and served on various boards. He also was
a member of Colorado Cattle Feeder's Association and past president of Hill and Brush Ditch Co. and Farmer's Ditch Co. He enjoyed farming and cattle and being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Viola C. Croissant of Loveland, two sons, Larry Croissant and wife Jean of Briggsdale and James Croissant and wife Victoria of Loveland; two daughters, Barbara Ullmann and husband Tom of Fort Collins and Sheryl McCoy and husband John of Loveland; his mother, Pauline Croissant of Westminister, Calif.; two sisters, JoAn Smith and husband Dave of Westminister and Orlene Biggert and husband Hank of Mission Viejo, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and four great
grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be at the Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home 8 a.m.--5 p.m. today and Wednesday at the church following the service.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Congregational Church, with the Rev. Arthur Orth officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Loveland.
Contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church.
