    The Golden Wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Truman A. Gee was celebrated with a big family reunion at the home 2 miles northeast of Palmer, Wednesday, February 12, 1941.
    All of the five living children, all but four of the 21 grandchildren, one of the three great-grandchildren, all of Mrs. Gee's four sisters and three brothers were present, besides a large number of nephews, nieces, cousins, etc from far away and nearby...
    Mrs. Gee's sisters and brothers, all of whom were present are: Miss Minnie Peregrine, Mrs. Earl Black of Central City, Mrs. W. B. Vaughn of Norfolk, Mrs. C. O. Nesbitt of Fullerton, J. E. Peregrine of Oakland, Calif; Ray A. Peregrine of Fullerton, and Joe Peregrine of Grant....
    Mr. and Mrs. Gee are natives of Iowa, the former being born in Jones County, and the latter in Adams County. Mrs. Gee's maiden name was Chloe Peregrine.
    They were married at Fullerton, February 12, 1891 and for nine years lived on a farm five miles south of that town. In 1900 they moved to their present home near Palmer.
    Six children were born, five of whom are living. They are: Lena Scott of Palmer; Lura Wilson of Washington, Kas; George of Watsonville, Calif; John of Cotesfield; Alvah of Palmer; and Ella Liberty who passed away in 1919....

    Funeral services for Truman A. Gee, a resident of this community for almost 55 years, were held at Palmer Church of Christ Saturday April 23. Minister Ed Maertens officated.
    Mr. Gee died at the home of Lloyd Joseph Wednesday, April 20. He was 94 years old.
    Truman A. Gee, son of Wilson and Mary Gee, was born July 22, 1860 in Johnson County, Iowa, and departed from this life April 20, 1955 at the age of 94 year, 8 months and 29 days, near Palmer.
    February 12, 1891 he was united in marriage with Chloe Peregrine at Fullerton, Nebraska. The first nine years of their married life they spent south of Fullerton, at which time they moved to a farm northeast of Palmer. Upon moving to this locality they became members of the Palmer Church of Christ and remained so until their respective deaths. To this union were born six children.
    Mr. Gee was preceded in death by his wife, and two daughters, Lena Scott and Ella Liberty. He is survived by one daughter, Lura Wilson of Mahaska, Kansas; three sons, George W. Gee of Watsonville, California, John W. Gee of Central City, Nebraska, Alvah Gee of Palmer, 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Antonia Novak of North Bend, Nebr; one brother, Frank Kaspar Sr. of Columbus, Nebr., and a host of friends.

    Truman heiratete Peregrine, Chloe Armita am 12 Feb 1891 in Fullerton, Nance County, Nebraska, USA.     Truman Alvah Gee, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Truman Gee, was born July 1, 1897 on a farm between Palmer and Fullerton. He passed away at his home in Palmer March 30, 1956 at the age of 58 years, 8 months and 29 days, following many months of ill health.
    He was united in marriage to Etoile Colborn on June 28, 1919. To this union were born eight children.
    He became a member of the Palmer Church of Christ on October 10, 1908. He was a charter member of the American Legion.
    Alvah Gee was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Ella Liberty and Lena Scott.
    He is survived by his wife, Etoile; his children, Mrs. Gertrude Andrews of Denver, Colorado, Wayne of Palmer, Richard of Grand Island, Mrs. Virginia Leth of St. Paul, Jay of Central City, Lyle of Palmer, Mrs. Betty Killion of Palmer, Suzanne of Palmer, one sister, Mrs. Lura Wilson of Mahaska, Kansas; two brothers, George Gee of Watsonville, California, John Gee of Central City; many, many relatives and a host of friends.

    Was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, serving as secretary, past auxiliary president, scholarship chairman for 10 years and 8/40 Salon 769 Chapeau. She also enjoyed working with the Veteran's Museum typing many veteran service records. She had served on the Board of Directors for the Howard County Historical Society. She was typist for the Entering Howard County book, helping with Education on the Plains and the Family Scrapbooks.

    Former Hastings resident Melvin E "Mel" Leth, 50, of Grand Island died Wednesday, Aug 28, 2002, at his home.
    Services are Monday at Peace Lutheran Church in Grand Island with the Rev William Voelker officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St Paul.
    Mr Leth was born Dec 4, 1951 to Ray and Virginia (Gee) Leth in Grand Island. He was raised in St Paul and graduated from St Paul Public Schools in 1970 He then attended Kearney State College. On Oct 6, 1973, he married Marilyn jacobson in Worms. They lived in St Libory and Grand Island from 1973-85 where he worked for Agricultural Services in Grand Island, for Goodyear Tire in St Paul and
    Grand Island, and also Meyers Farm Equipment in Grand Island. In 1985, they moved to Hastings and he worked for Aid Association for Lutherans for 16 years.
    In 2001, they moved to Grand island where he was employed as a leasing officer for United Nebraska Bank.
    He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Grand Island where he served on the church board and was president of AAL Branch. He also served on the Faith Lutheran Church Board in Hastings and was a past member of the Hastings Optimist Club. He helped Habitat for Humanity and coached little league football.
    Survivors are his wife, one son Joshua of Hastings; one daughter, Jodi Van Emmerik of Humboldt, SD.; his parents of St Paul; one brother, Gary of St Paul and one sister Karen Janulewicz of Farwell.
    He was preceded in death by one sister and his grandparents.
