    Carl was born on April 6, 1927 to Carl Adolf, Sr. and Clara (Stahlecker) Adolf and raised on the family farm north of Bethune. As a baby, Carl was baptized at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. While attending this church, during his childhood he attended confirmation classes, first under the German Language and then again under the English Language, and was expected to memorize Psalm 119; all 176 verses.
    He attended the old brick school in Bethune through the eighth grade. Carl quit school to devote his time working on the farm with his father and neighbors.
    Later he was drafted into the army, receiving his training in Ft. Ord, CA and Osaka, Japan where he became a pharmacist. After his honorable discharge, Carl returned home where he married the love of his life, Betty Flider. There were married for 59 years and 11 months to the day and blessed with four children.
    Carl made his living through farming, carpentry, with his father, and later delivering mail. He was a God fearing man who taught many years of Sunday School. He was a craftsman in wood and metal with his creative mind and skilled hands.
    He also used his gift to extend his love and devotion for the Bethune School in creating and building games and prizes for their carnival and making repairs on the school whenever necessary.
    He is survived by his wife, Betty; his four children Arlinda Wardlow, Karen Sue Holmes, Doyle Adolf and Kathy Webb and their spouses; 13 grandchildren; along with his siblings Lil Schaal, Joan Koss, Ray Adolf, Clord Adolf and their families.
    He is preceded in death by his parents Carl Adolf Sr. and Clara; siblings Everett Adolf, Fern Jefferson and brother Irvin Adolf.

    Everett Joseph Adolf (Joe), 48, of Bethune, Colorado (formerly of Kersey, Colorado) passed away on Saturday, August 16th at Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado.
    Joe was born on March 30, 1966 in Burlington, Colorado to Everett and Lois (Willenborg) Adolf and was the second of four children. He attended Bethune Schools until his sophomore year when he transferred to Burlington High School and graduated in 1984. During his high school years, Joe set many track and field records in the 100M dash, 200M dash, and the 400M and 800M relays where he still holds those records today. Joe attended the University of Northern Colorado and was in the Army Reserves from 1984 to January 12, 1990 when he was honorably discharged from the armed forces.
    On September 1, 1990 he married Kristen at Saint Catherine’s Catholic Church in Burlington, Colorado and was later divorced in 2011. They resided in Kersey, Colorado and had two children, Erica born on August 22, 1987 and Tressa born on June 2, 1992.
    Joe worked as an electrician for several years before starting his own heating and air conditioning business, Adolf Heating and Cooling in August 2009 to current.
    Joe loved hunting, camping and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Saint Catherine’s Catholic Church and also the local 4-H club where he showed market steers and pigs during his primary school years.
    Joe was known as a kind, caring man with a big heart who loved to help others. Although he was reserved and quiet at times, he would always make you laugh with his funny comments when you least expected.
    Survivors are his two daughters, Erica Nava (husband Guillermo) of Evans, and Tressa Adolf of Loveland, mother, Lois Adolf of Burlington, his two sisters Kim Adolf Thompson of Eaton, Allegra Adolf of Burlington, brother Jason Adolf (wife Alicia) of Yuma, nephew Trent Thompson and niece Jenna Thompson of Eaton, niece Jessica Skinner of Burlington, and three granddaughters, Briella, Audrina, and Vienna Nava.
    Preceded in death are his father, Everett Adolf, his brother Billy Adolf, his nephew Bryan Skinner, his grandparents, Carl and Clara Adolf and Leonard and Crescentia Willenborg.
