    Reiswig, Jacob "Jake" 84, of Lodi, died Tuesday in a local hospital after a brief illness.
    A native of Milltown, S. Dakota, and Mr. Reiswig was reared in McClusky, N Dakota and attended school there.
    He married Emma Suelzle in 1915 and the couple farmed in Harvey, N Dakota until 1920 when they moved to Alberta, Canada where Mr. Reiswig worked in a gold mine.
    They later moved to Iron Mountain, Michigan where he worked for the Henry Ford Co.
    In 1928, they moved back to N Dakota where Mr. Reiswig farmed until 1934 when the family moved to Lodi. Mr. Reiswig was a highway construction worker until his retirement in 1961. He was preceded in death by his wife who died in 1978.
    He was a member of the Fairmont Seventh-day Adventist church.
    Mr. Reiswig is survived by a son, LaVerne Reiswig of Sacramento; a daughter, Nina Fernandez of Arnold, Ca; two brothers, Emil Reiswig and Albert Reiswig, both of Lodi; two sisters, Elsie Dause of Lodi and Edna Owens of Minot, N Dakota; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
    Services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Lodi Funeral Home chapel with the Elder J.J. Dollinger of Fairmont Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating. Burial will be in Cherokee Memorial Park.
    Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. today.

    Nina Fernandez, 82, of Murphys, died on Dec 5 in a Stockton hospital. She was born Nina Reiswig on March 31, 1916, in Garden Valley, N. D.
    She was raised in Harvey, S.D., and Iron Mountain, Mich., where she attended schools.
    She married Adolph Fernandez on July 26, 1935, in Reno, Nev., and the couple lived in Lodi until 1938 when they moved to San Bruno. They moved to Arnold in 1977 and then to Murphys in 1987.
    Mrs. Fernandez was a homemaker for the past 63 years.
    She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the Quilters Club in Arnold and the Bunco Club in Murphys.
    She enjoyed golf, sewing, quilting, making stuffed animals and other crafts.
    She was preceded in death by her brother, Elmer Reiswig.
    She is survived by her husband, Adolph Fernandez of Murphys; two sons, Adolph Fernandez, Jr. of Sacramento and Ronald Fernandez of Concord; a daughter, Barbara Thorp of Santa Clara; a brother, LaVern Reiswig of Oklahoma; and five grandchildren.
    A chapel service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lodi Funeral Home. Committal will be at Cherokee Memorial Park.
    Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

    Elmer Reiswig injured in an automobile accident on Cherokee Lane four miles south of Lodi just before 2 oclock Sat morning, passed away Saturday afternoon at 1:30 oclock at the county hosptial at French Camp.
    The young man suffered fatal injuries when the car he was driving collided with a tree on the west side of the highway. He was accompanied by Bill Thomas, former Flame football ace, who received many cuts on his face and head in the same accident. Accourding to Thomas the two young men attended the Lodi Stockton football game and then went to a dance in Stockton. Thomas said he was sleepy and drowsed shortly after they left Stockton. He was unable to give and details of the accident. He was rendered unconsciour and recovered his senses after the arrival of the ambulance from Lodi. Thomas was still seated in the car when the ambulance arrived. Reiswig had been thrown through the windshield.
    His injuries included fractured skull, fractured arm, fractured hip and leg and many cuts and brusies. One eye was almost gouged out. Attendants marveled that he clung to life for about 12 hours after the accident.
    Reiswig had been a reisdent of Lodi for the past five years. He came here with his parents, M/M Jacob Reiswig 321 Flora Street and graduated from Lodi high school in 1937. He was born in Lincoln Valley, [page 3] ND and was 21yrs of age. He had been employed recently as a driver of the Guggolz Market and John Declusin grocery store.
    Thomas was removed from Mason hospital to his home in Lodi Sat. and will recover although he received many bad cuts about his face and head.
    Reiswig is survived by his parents and a sister and brother, Mrs Mina Fernandez San Bruno, LaVerne Reiswig of Lodi. He was the nephew of Henry, Albert and Emil Reiswig all of Lodi, Mrs. George Dawsey of Lodi; Otto Reiswig and Mrs. Edna Seigler McCluskey, ND; Jacob, Emanuel, Sam and Herbert Suelzle, Lodi; Mrs. Margaret Rodacker, Lincoln Valley, ND; Mrs. Fred Lange of Alberta, Canada. He was the grandson of M/M C. H. Reiswig of Lincoln Valley, ND.
    Funeral services will be held Tue afternoon at 2pm at the German Adventist church with the pastor, Rev. B. A. Reile officiating. Internment will be in Woodbridge cemetery. Lodi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments.
