Arthur R. Lehr, 72, died Wednesday in Jamestown Hospital. The funeral will be in Temple Baptist church with Rev. Raymond Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Highland Home cemetery. Mr. Lehr was born on August 16, 1917, at Alfred, the son of Fred and Bertha (Hochstetter) Lehr. He grew up at Alfred where he received his education. He was a car salesman at Midwest Motors, Jamestown. He also owned and operated the Downtowner Motel for six years. He was a bus driver for Jamestown Public Schools for twelve years. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Married Lillian (Klundt) 16 Jun 1938, Gackle, ND; married Frieda (Remmick) Hust George, 1 Aug 1962, Elko, NV.
He is survived by his wife Frieda; two daughters, Margaret (Mrs. Selmer) Docktor, and Ardella (Mrs. Pat) McCarty; one son, Cordell Lehr, Jamestown; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; two stepsons; Lee Roy Hust and Clifford Hust; two stepdaughters; Marlys Hust and VerDella Nitschke; four sisters, Dora Austin, Nora (Mrs. Ervin) Gums, Pearl Lehr and Rosella (Mrs. Richard) Grosz; and two brothers, Raymond and Melbert. Pearl Lehr, 90, Moorhead, Minn., formerly of Alfred, N.D., died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at Elim Care Center, Fargo, N.D.
Pearl Violet Lehr was born June 15, 1919, in Alfred, the daughter of Fred and Bertha (Hochstetter) Lehr. She grew up and received her education in Alfred and Gackle, N.D., where she graduated from high school in 1939. She received her nurses training at St. Alexius Hospital School of Nursing in Bismarck, N.D. She worked as a registered nurse in Seattle, Wash., and in Wyandotte, Mich., prior to moving to the Minneapolis area. She lived in Robbinsdale, Minn., and worked at Swedish Hospital, later named Metropolitan Medical Center. She retired in 1981, after 32 years of service.
She continued to live in the Twin Cities and was active in the 4th Baptist Church, where she was a key part of the Golden Agers group. In October 2006, she moved to Moorhead. In 2008, she became a resident of The Evergreens. In February 2009, she became a resident of Elim Care Center, Fargo.
She is survived by three sisters, Nora (Ervin) Gums, Jamestown, Dora Austin, Denver, Colo., and Rosella Grosz, Moorhead; and a brother, Melbert, Lodi, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Raymond, Harry and Arthur.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Brookdale Baptist Church, Moorhead.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.

elbert Lehr, age 95, of Acampo, CA passed away July 1, 2017. Mel was born in Alfred, North Dakota.
Mel graduated from Gackle High School and later attended Valley City State University, Mel retired as a supervisor from Goehring Meats, He was a member of the First Baptist Church for over 60 years where he was a deacon, taught Sunday school, and sang in the church choir. Mel loved to fish and go to garage sales.
Mel is survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; and two sisters, Nora Gums and Sally Grosz. Mel is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Bertha Lehr, wife Ruth (Zimmerman) Lehr and son David Lehr, grandchildren; Shannon Weible and Jacob Wasden, also brothers Art and Ray Lehr, sisters Pearl Lehr and Dora Austin.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the First Baptist Building Fund. Visitation will be at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA 95240 on Friday July 21, 2017 from 12-8pm.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church, Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11am. Burial will be private. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is proud to be serving the family.
