Ralph E. Hawbaker, 70, of Mercersburg, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at Falling Spring Nursing Center, Chambersburg, Pa.
Born Nov. 26, 1936, in Dry Run, Md., he was the son of the late Ralph J. and Dorthea Daugherty Hawbaker.
He was employed for more than 30 years by Grove Worldwide of Shady Grove, Pa., and retired in 1999.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War.
He was a member of Two Top Fellowship Church of Mercersburg and attended Locust Level Full Gospel Church of Greencastle, Pa.
He was a member of Two Top Ruritan Club and Grove Retirees.
He is survived by his wife, MaryElla Springer Faith Hawbaker; three daughters, Gwendolyn M. Pine of Mercersburg, Phyllis F. McAtee of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Felicia K. Westurn of Hamlin, N.Y.; three sons, Ralph E. Hawbaker Jr. of Chambersburg, Jerry L. Hawbaker of Tacoma, Wash., and Terry L. Hawbaker of Nurnberg, Germany; three stepdaughters, Teresa K. Mason of Nashville, Tenn., Michelle M. Hawbaker of Chambersburg and Julie M. Hawk of Mercersburg; two stepsons, Gregory L. Faith of Nashville and Robert B. Faith of Clear Spring; one brother, Joseph L. Hawbaker of Mercersburg; 13 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Two Top Fellowship Church, Mercersburg. The Revs. Paul A. Martin and Henry D. Barthalow will officiate. Burial will be in Welsh Run (Pa.) Brethren Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Mercersburg, and one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church.
