Ardith was known by all who loved and knew her as Ardie. She was born January 29, 1934 to Lawrence and Norma (Taplin) Swanson of Fairmont MN. At the age of 6 she and her family moved to Fullerton ND. She attended and graduated from Fullerton Public school, where she met her husband Don Zimbleman. Ardie received her Elementary Education degree from UND-EB. She and Don were married in Fullerton at the Union Church on October 1, 1954. Miss Swanson and Mrs. Zimbleman taught at Fullerton Public school. Ardie and Don were blessed with three children Donnell, Lawrence, and Donald. Ardie served on many boards some of which included the RFD Homemaker's Club, Women's Dickey County Farm Bureau board, PTO board, LWML board, ND Flying Farmer Queen, Region 5 Flying Farmer Director, Republican Women's board for District 26. She was a member of Trinity English Lutheran church of LaMoure. Ardie's love of family was always first and she passed it on to all she knew and met. She enjoyed flowers, painting pictures, flying with Don, traveling, sewing, reading, word puzzles, and she was always the ultimate hostess. She loved entertaining friends and family. She was known for her beautiful smile and words of encouragement. Don and Ardie celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary last fall. Ardie enjoyed the time she and Don spent as snowbirds in Mesa AZ. Ardith Zimbleman was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence B. and Norma Swanson, stepdad Kenneth Carver, one brother Lawrence E. Swanson, one son Lawrence A. Zimbleman, one grandson Seth A. Larson, and one great grandson Seth T. Larson. She is survived by her husband Donald G. Zimbleman; daughter Donnell (Mike) Walstead, her son Donald K. (Rosi) Zimbleman; six grandchildren. Prayer service will be at 7 pm Friday Feb. 5, 2016 at the Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Oakes. The funeral will be Saturday Feb. 6, 2016 at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in LaMoure. Burial will be at Mapleview Cemetery in Fullerton.
