From The Wolbach Messenger, November 23, 1967, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney:
George Henry Studley, who was known to his many friends as "Nip" was the son of George and Sarah Studley and was born May 11, 1885. He departed from this life on Thursday, November 16, 1967 at a Grand Island Hospital at the age of 82 years, six months and five days.
George was born at Joliet, Illinois and was the fifth child in a family of 13 children. When George was a small child the family moved to Belleville, Kansas, and when he was 7 years of age he came by covered wagon with his family to Greeley County. Here he spent the remainder of his life.
George attended a rural school in Greeley County. He was united in marriage to Lydia Zimbelman on November 13, 1911 at Greeley. Born to this union were two sons, Leo and Darl. The couple farmed in the Greeley area until they retired and moved to Wolbach in 1961. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in that same year in November.
George was baptized and was a member of the Wolbach Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, four sisters and five brothers.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Lydia of Wolbach, two sons, Leo of St. Paul and Darl of Wolbach; three brothers, Charlie and Eddie of Wolbach, and Harry of Santa Anna, California; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild besides a host of other relatives and friends.
