Daughter of Deforrest Wood and Clarace Tanner, Betty Wood married Neil W. Preszler on Jan 9 1948 in Lodi, San Joaquin Co., California.
Betty Ruth Fratzke passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 2, 2016, at the age of 88. Betty's spirit and heart remained courageously steady until her final peaceful moments surrounded by her three beloved children.
Betty was born in Borger, Texas, on May 10, 1928, to Deforest and Katie Wood.
Betty married Neil William Preszler on January 9, 1948. He was a vineyardist, the son of William and Tena Preszler. They settled in Lodi and had three children.
Neil died on May 15, 1963. After Neil passed away, Betty married Ed Fratzke, a building contractor, who also preceded her in death.
Betty was a wonderful homemaker. She loved to prepare meals and bake for her family, and her delicious cookies were especially prized by her grandchildren. Betty also loved golf; she played for many years, and continued to avidly follow the game on television. She also enjoyed watercolor painting, crocheting, and trying out new recipes from her Barefoot Contessa cookbooks. But most of all she adored spending time with her family. She looked forward to frequent family visits and phone calls, and especially to hosting her annual Christmas Eve potato soup and crab dinners. She opened her home and her heart with unconditional love to them all. There are not adequate words to accurately describe the depth of how dearly Betty will be missed.
She is survived by her three children, grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
