The 1910 US Census for Ludwig and Elizabeth (Kniss) Horst indicates that Elizabeth had 5 births at this census and three were still living. In Martha G. (Horst) Ellermeier's obituary, she indicates she had a sister that died as a baby. The Horst babies were being born during the late 1890's until 1916. There is a gap in living children between 1901 and 1908 that fits in the before 1910 slot where Leah and her unknown deceased baby sibling were born and died. This is also the era when Ludwig's family was attending the Jesser Sod Church with the Jesser Sod Church Cemetery adjacent. A search of area cemeteries do not come up with any clues for these babies so an assumption is made here that these babies were buried in this cemetery. All graves in this cemetery are unmarked and current owners are not able to pin point the cemetery. George Jesser sold this farm in 1919 and it appears the cemetery was not maintained shortly after that date.
