      Obituary of Bryan Lacy. "'Bryan' Lacy
      LINCOLN -- W.J. Bryan Lacy Jr., 75, of Lincoln, formerly of Grand Island, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at The Ambassador Nursing Home in Lincoln due to Parkinson's disease.
      Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Faith United Methodist Church in Grand Island. The Revs. Richard Karohl and Eddie Masters will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at Grand Island.
      Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
      Mr. Lacy was born Feb. 21, 1928, at Beatrice to W.J. Bryan and Lyda (Slyhof) Lacy.
      Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Wanda Lacy of Lincoln; a son and his fiancé, Glenn Lacy of Lincoln and Sally Gast of Norfolk; and two daughters and sons-in-law, Bev and Bill Joy of Beatrice and Barb and Bryan Bulow of Lincoln
      He is also survived by four grandsons, Kyle Lacy of Omaha, Steve Joy of Beatrice, and Josh Bulow and fiancé Hayli Selix and Aaron Bulow, all of Lincoln; five granddaughters, Christa Joy and Sarah Joy, both of Springfield, Mo., and Kate Lacy, Alicia and husband Erik Bauer and Jacey Bulow, all of Lincoln; a great-granddaughter, Olivia S. Bauer of Lincoln; and three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Melvin and DeAnna Glause, Elton and Betty Scheer and John Glause.
      He grew up and received his education in Beatrice, graduating from high school in 1946.
      Mr. Lacy entered the U.S. Army in January 1947 and was honorably discharged in June 1948 at the rank of Tech 4th Class. After his time in the service, he worked as the transportation secretary at Letterman General Hospital in San Francisco. After that, he worked for Hested's in Nebraska and Wyoming as assistant manager and eventually manager.
      He was united in marriage to Wanda Glause on March 19, 1950, in Grand Island at Faith United Methodist Church. After his marriage, he worked for Skagway, Fairmont Foods and Johnson Cashway until he became employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk, remaining there until retirement after 30-plus years of service.
      Mr. Lacy was a 50-year member of Faith United Methodist Church, longtime member of the United Methodist Men, was active in the Boy Scouts, U.C.T. and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
      He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Bette Jane Bockus and Alyce Marie Schmidt.
      Memorials may be made to the Faith United Methodist Church of Grand Island or Indian Hills Community Church in Lincoln.
