Dreiling, Marvin J., 79, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 26, 2008. Rosary service 7:00 P.M. Monday, July 28, 2008 at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. Funeral mass 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 861 N. Socora in Wichita. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 P.M. at Lakin Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Marvin was born on October 31, 1928 in Victoria, Kansas to Agatha and Aquilinus Dreiling. He moved to Ellinwood as a teenager and eventually had his own business manufacturing oilfield production equipment. As a young man, Marvin moved with his family to Wichita where he worked as a maintenance superintendent in the petroleum and trucking industries. He was known for his innovative mind and dedication to his work. After retiring from Universal Lubricants in Wichita, Marvin pursued his lifelong artistic talent at wood carving and metal sculpturing. He was devoted to his family and always willing to help all in need. Due to his father's untimely death, Marvin was regarded as the patriarch of the family. Survivors: wife, Thelma; children and their spouses, Charlene Dreiling, Dennis and Dawn Dreiling, Ruth and Mike Blick, Rich and Sarah Dreiling, Mark Dreiling, Carol and Joe Critchlow; grandchildren, Jennifer, Allison, and Brian Ray, Michelle and Cory Dreiling, Jason and Megan Blick, Rebecca, Felicia, Melissa, Nicholas, Daniel, and Anastasia Dreiling, Travis and Jonathan Critchlow; brother, Harold Dreiling and family; brother-in-law, Donald Warnken and family. Preceding Marvin in death were his parents; brother, Kenneth; sister, Twyla Warnken; infant granddaughter, Nicole. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with The Guadalupe Clinic, 940 S. St. Francis, Wichita, KS 67211.
